November 2023 by Eileen Jones
Back in 2019, I researched arborists and licensed tree care specialists in the Sumner County and Nashville area to find someone with knowledge to help us conserve our 150 year old oak and trim other trees that had never been attended on our new property. We were so pleased with Kassandra and her team with their impressive knowledge and skill, that when it came time in November 2023 to do it all again, we called Moore and Smith once more. Kassandra came out to evaluate our trees again and she was pleased with the way the conservation had helped preserve and foster growth. She was so honest with her current assessment of several other trees that would have made her money but were not in need of work, she advised us thus. Not too many contractors would talk you OUT of work and money for themselves. Integrity matters as much as skill to me. Are they the cheapest? No. Are they skilled and trained arborists that will shape and groom your trees PROPERLY for health and growth? Yes. Thank you, Smith and Moore for your excellent customer service and skilled workers. We highly recommend this team.

I needed Kassandra Moore's arborist expertise on a tree issue. I was really impressed with her responsiveness when I know her company was busy dealing with the aftereffects of a natural disaster. She took time out to help me. I had contacted a number of local arborists but did not even receive responses from them. Thanks, Kassandra!

Came out for insurance tree removal after a tornado and they did a little extra to help out by cutting up the bigger stuff for us to move easier. Did a great job.Service: Tree removal

Their crew was extremely organized. They took down our two dying maple trees in no time and left our place completely free of debris. Everything you would expect from a professional outfit. I highly recommend!Service: Tree removal

We had a different company come out to examine our trees. He spent no time talking to me, grabbed some leaves from one tree and didn't look at the other, left and didn't call back. When I called them someone else told me my trees could not be saved and that was it.I then called Moore & Smith. Cassandra spent a lot of time explaining what was going on and said one tree could, in fact, be saved. They got me a quote quickly, came out and worked hard through some rain to get my tree taken down and removed. They had to stop when lightning started but came out a few days later and finished with excellent clean-up. They treated the other tree and, hopefully, it will revive pretty quick! I really couldn't be happier!

If I could leave zero stars I would, absolutely horrible company. My place of work hired Moore & Smith to come out and take down a tree that was on our property line - which meant that that a small section of fence would have to come down. They told us that we would need to pay an additional $600 so they could hire someone outside of their team to come take down that section of the fence. $600 seemed outrageous, and we've had other people come do work on the property line that didn't charge us to do anything with the fence, but we said okay as we needed this done ASAP. Turns out they took our $600 and had their own guys do it and - SURPRISE! - they did a horrible job. We complained and again THEIR guys (not a specialist) came out to "fix it". It looked horrible still but at this point we were over dealing with them so we said whatever. Two days later there was a storm and the section of fence that they removed & "fixed" fell completely down - no other section fell, just that one... what does that tell you? We called to complain again and they said because we didn't say anything "after they had finished the second repair but before the storm" that there's nothing they could do. Basically they took our money, ruined our fence, and left a massive stump behind which they were supposed to remove as that's their whole job in the first place. We tried to resolve with them but they are impossible to get ahold of with their full voicemail box and when we did, they were extremely rude. Save your time, money and fences - look elsewhere.Service: Tree removal

Owner Kasandra is amazing, she is an arborist. She educated me on everything that was done and taught me how to care for my trees. Workers cleaned up perfectly and were done according to schedule.Services: Tree trimming & pruning

All the employees were helpful, friendly, and professional from the start of getting the arborist on site to do an evaluation and estimate to the guys who showed up to cut down three trees and clean up afterward. I'd definitely recommend Moore & Smith to my friends and neighbors.Service: Tree removal

WORST. EXPERIENCE. I didn't want to have to leave this review, but after the owners promised to make it right and then never made good on their promise, I can't stress enough how horrible our experience was with Moore and Smith. They were by a mile the highest quote, and we don't mind paying top dollar for good service, but this was nothing short of disappointing. The company came highly recommended, however they repeatedly dropped the ball on our rental when we needed to have trees removed. They presented a waiver to our tenants stating it was "to cover the property under insurance should anything happen". This was in fact a waiver in case the lawn and or driveway got torn up. I, as the owner of the property was NEVER presented this document, or I would have certainly requested to move the service to another day when the ground was more firm. Lo and behold, the lawn is a demolition derby, the driveway is damaged, and the tenants were picking up trash and debris for days. Not what I would expect for an $8000 service. When I called to get to the root of the problem and express my frustration, I spoke with Megan, who is equally as classless as she is condescending... not sure what swamp they dug her out of, but I've never been spoken to by a more repugnant person. Any company that would have THAT as their customer service person clearly doesn't give a s*** about customer service...The owners called me back to apologize for how she spoke to me, which showed class, and promised to return to our rental, smooth out the tracks from the damage, and to reseed the lawn. He also promised to come to our property for free for a service should we need help. They never made good on either promise, and calls to the owner have been unreturned and texts left on read. Needless to say we are disappointed and will never be hiring them again.

They were so professional and pleasure to deal with during a trying time. A tree had fallen on my house causing extensive damage. Other trees had fallen and leaning on each other, which would’ve also fallen on my house. They were here hours after it happened and with precision got the trees down without causing any damage to a place it right underneath him or my house. I have amazing crew and Phill one of the owners was amazingly helpful during the whole event. I’m truly grateful for everything they do and I highly recommend them for any tree removal’s and will be using them in the future.Services: Tree stump grinding

Had company do a tree removal and was a great experience from start to finish. The arborist came out and gave a consult, had estimate sent over shortly after leaving, booked the job with office and crew made it out day and time they scheduled for. Crew was very professional and kept me informed the entire time of what was happening and ensured I was happy with finished product before leaving. Definitely would recommend.

So based on the recommendations of others, I hired Kassandra and Co. to come out and remove a few trees and do some light trimming.A unexpected bonus was, I received informative recommendations from their certified arborist, which was very helpful and making my decisions. The recommendation was NOT to trim our mature magnolia tree. Another company told me that it must be trimmed. She offered that it might expose the magnolia to disease if I did so.Everything was done, professional, and on budget. The only thing they couldn’t plan for was the ice & the weather so I had to be rescheduled once, but that was no problem. They came back the next day with their brand new grapple truck and picked up all yard debris like it was never there to begin with! I would definitely recommend and use them again!Services: Tree removal
