, thoughtful and patient vet practice around. We relocated 7 yrs ago yet still travel almost an hour to bring our pups here. Absolutely amazing and highly highly recommend.

Horrible Surgeons! DO NOT get your dog surgery here!! Botched surgical procedure with no drain tube led to our dog developing a serious infection. We had to demand antibiotics and antiinflammatories because they weren't given originally during pick up. He was bleeding everywhere during pick up due to poor suture placement. Then had to call and go back because they couldn't get medication dosage correct. Had to consult with Animal Emergency Hospital Blue Pearl to receive validation of Lakeside Animal Hospital's malpractice and get proper care for our dog.
Lakeside Animal Hospital is very unprofessional as clearly seen in their response below. Very rude, demanding, and uninterested in BOTH of my partner and I's experience being shared on their review page. Which we are entitled to; following Google review policy. They make us sound like horrible people for sharing an awful experience due to their negligence with surgical procedures. DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!

Took my bunny in for some swelling and leakage in his left eye. Everything about the whole process was so easy. Communication was great and it was no problem to get him scheduled for an appointment. The staff was amazing with him and got him all taken care of. Happy with the entire process. Thank you guys ?

Had an absolutely horrible experience at Lakeside Animal Hospital with a botched surgery. Literally gave us our dog after surgery- still bleeding, with an open hole in his leg.
Had to demand antibiotics and anti-inflammatory because they gave us zero. Then had to demand the correct dose of pain medication because they got that wrong.
Literally, my previous work as a veterinary technician saved our dog. He had a fever, infection, swelling of the site because they didn't place drain tubes (( Extremely important for mass removals or fluid swells up at the site causing sutures to rupture and open to infection))
Horrible, horrible experience at Lakeside Animal Hospital. They talk a good game in the exam room, but when it comes to actual surgery - Very inexperienced!!!
I should not have had to ask our VETERINARIAN to give us the correct pain medication dose.
I should not have to ask for routine supportive medications; which are absolutely crucial during recovery. No drain tube. Horrible suture job where it ripped open on his way to the room to go home. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Never seen this treatment EVER.
It's been weeks and they haven't even called for a follow up or to see if our dog is still alive.
Before you read their response please read this because I'm tired of professionals taking advantage of average day people and their pets being neglected.
I have recorded conversations over the phone of admission of fault about pain medication dosage being incorrect. As well as admission from a staff member stating the veterinarian had said
"I knew I should have used staples." Implying improper surgical procedure.
These people will argue and say you said this or that when it simply isn't true. They will deny any wrongdoing.. probably because of embarrassment of having to be corrected. And called out by someone with years of experience assisting in similar surgical procedures.
As factual hard evidence, not he said- she said situation: I have recorded conversations which occurred 4 times with Lakeside Animal Hospital total. With the veterinarian and twice with staff members ( Not every day. That's a lie. And I have phone records to also back that up. )
I additionally took photographs each day of the surgical site. Some of which were sent to Blue Pearl Veterinary Hospital; where they confirmed in photographs there was clear sign of infection and validated that a drain tube should have been placed. As well as confirming routine antibiotics and anti-inflammatories should have been given at the time of pick up.
Blue Pearl is known widely for their specialists and exceptional emergency veterinary care. I also took his temperature rectally, daily, and he had a fever for one day. Prompting me to reach out to Blue Pearl. Which then resulted in me demanding antibiotics and anti-inflammatories from Lakeside Animal Hospital. Which they supplied as well as incorrect dosage of pain medication ( I still have the bottle which has that proof and my dog's documented weight during the time )
There is mention of the pick up person and it seems to imply they didn't care about the dog when in fact it was the opposite. Our dog could be heard whining in the back signaling unnecessary distress. The pick up person actually was left and forgotten in a room for 16 minutes 46 seconds ( They timed staff per my request )
The pick up person was literally there for "pick up" not to be forgotten in a room. They physically had to leave and go to the back in the pharmaceutical wing of Lakeside Animal Hospital where staff were gossiping and laughing. They stood in the doorway asking for our dog. The staff then scrambled to get everything ready. They were closing and had no other clients.<

We've only been twice, but love this vet. The veterinarian herself was knowledgeable and was so sweet to our dog.
The nurse, Marcy, figured out that our dog had ear infections just from smelling his ears while petting him.

Great at first, but sadly disappointing in the long run. The surgery my dog had to go through was botched, the vet even admitted that she should have used staples to close the large open wound on my dog’s leg. He came out bleeding to the waiting room and then the surgical site popped open to become a large open wound. We had to push them to give us antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and they got the pain med dosage incorrect. I was so disappointed in this experience, especially for my poor, sweet dog.Please don’t take your pets here for surgery.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ANAMAL HOSPITAL THAT CALLS YOU TO CHECK ON YOUR PET AFTER VISIT! THAT IS THE KIND OF PEOPLE I WANT TO TREAT MY PET WHEN THEY ARE SICK. LAKESIDE IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR CARING FOR YOUR FAMILY PETS.

Dr. Hynek is absolutely amazing. She has taken care of my dog for the last two years and has done nothing less than perfection. She is very knowledgeable and is always able to answer my many questions when it comes to what is going on with my dog and how I can best take care of her at home. I would highly recommend Dr. Hynek to anyone looking for great care for their pets!
