“I took my beloved soulmate cat, Leonard, to Dr. Madeline Williams on September 21st, seeking help for what seemed like a manageable issue. Unfortunately, Dr. Williams misdiagnosed him and prescribed antibiotics without informing me of the life-threatening risks they posed. Following this treatment, Leonard’s condition worsened.
Later, with the help of a specialist and a thorough review of all reports, I learned that Leonard actually had a heart murmur, a condition that could have been managed with proper care. Instead, he was given a heavy dose of 100 ml of Plasmalyte with B complex, despite not having eaten, which placed intense strain on his heart. The excessive dose and lack of prior heart evaluation made Leonard’s system unable to handle the treatment, leading to his passing with in 23 hours and 13 minutes.
Losing Leonard this way has been devastating. Pet owners deserve clear communication about the risks of treatment and a thorough examination to avoid preventable outcomes. I hope this review encourages greater caution and transparency for future patients.”
Writing this review could be a way to share Leonard’s story and perhaps bring awareness to improve care for others.

So good with my anxious girl. I’d recommend them to anyone. The vet listened to me and sympathized. I’ll definitely be returning

Exceptional staff with exceptional service! They were able to evaluate my dog, Derby, at a moment's notice. Leissa, Mia and Dr. Ravyn were professional, and also fun! They put my mind at ease instantly. I highly recommend Hillsboro Animal Hospital. ??

I moved to Nashville this summer and just started taking my dogs to Hillsboro Animal Hospital. The care has been great and I've had no problems getting an appointment when I needed one. I saw the new Medical Director, Dr Fischer, today and he was wonderful with my two dogs (one for a check up and one for an eye infection - caring, knowledgeable, and thorough.

I have brought my beloved pets here for 25 years--yearly checkups, random sickness, surgery, and helping two dear spirits over the rainbow bridge. From the front desk to the techs and vets this team of people are so on their game. And huge thank you to Dr. Hendrix, my vet for 20 plus years and to my now current vet, Dr. Given. I have trusted them completely with my pets' lives. They have been and are truly extraordinary in their knowledge, their thoroughness, their compassion, and their care.

We’ve had nothing but great experiences at Hillsboro Animal Hospital. Each doctor we’ve seen has handled our little Corgi with so much care and attention. They are extremely educated and thoughtful and we trust them to keep our little guy safe and healthy.

I’ve been a longtime client and I can easily say that they are, and always have been, so helpful, responsive, respectful of budgets, caring, and have excellent communication! I really feel that every vet I have seen has taken the time to listen and help me and work with what we need to do for our aging dog. I really appreciate every member of the practice and truly thank each of them for an always consistently pleasant experience!! I love it here!

We have a 13 year old Chocolate Lab who's been a patient since she was a pup. Dr. Chad Given has been her Veterinarian the entire time (and our other Lab, Henri, for years prior). He is, hands-down, the best I've ever seen. I would never consider taking my animal anywhere else. He's now Managing DVM of the Hospital, yet continues to provide exceptional personalized care. In addition, he has an outstanding team of doctors, technicians, and other office staff. For anyone needing Veterinarian services, I highly recommend Hillsboro Animal Hospital.

I’ve been going to Hillsboro for several years and I used to see Dr. Bonavita and now see Dr. Ladd. Hillsboro staff has been the most professional and kind for our two dogs. We love going to Hillsboro because we can get in and out quickly without sacrificing quality of care. Recently, I had a pet emergency and called an hour before closing time and the receptionist was kind enough to work me in even though the appointments were booked for the day. We always receive the BEST care at Hillsboro.

I wouldn’t go here! I took my dog that wasn’t even able to walk there. They kept telling me they didn’t have any appointments. I wouldn’t call myself a “hospital” if you didn’t take emergency animals. The big issue was her not being able to walk but they were only concerned about her uti. Didn’t really do much for her. The meds they gave her also made her way worse. I had to take her to a different emergency vet and they found a lot of more concerning things wrong. I ended up putting her down that night. So end of it all if you love your pet don’t take them there

Dr Clausell, the Veterinarian, and Anna, the Veterinary technician, accommodated us and were very thorough. We were visiting Nashville over the weekend, and our 18 year old kitty experienced some health concerns immediately before departed from Florida. We were able to obtain a Saturday morning appointment, and were able to get a treatment plan. Our kitty is enjoying her vacation and Dr Clausell shared useful information for us to observe how our kitty is doing.

I've been going here for four years and the tech didn't trim my polydactyl cats side claws as requested which is dangerous because they can curl in. When I noticed and called to have them make sure techs don't miss things like that the receptionist dramatically rushed me off the phone like I had cussed her out and insulted her mom or something.
Her: "Well it's a courtesy pedicure so ..." (implying she can't refund me I think)
Me: I don't care about money I care about techs being properly trained and doing what they say they will do because how can we trust them if they don't?
That was the conversation verbatim before she immediately rushed me off the phone? I've never been treated like that before.
I recognize the receptionist as being there for years too and if she crumbles into pieces at a customer politely pointing out a complaint then god forbid someone in distress over a dying animal calls in.
