I was on assignment working in Smyrna, TN. My 11 and 10 year old sons love to fish ?! I know zero about fishing. My youngest needed his rod relined (or something). I used google and drove to Fly South. These men took time to teach my 11
year old different ways to tie his fishing line, gifted my sons with fishing gear and were just plain and simply welcoming and warm to myself and my sons! Their store was a fisherman’s paradise and my sons enjoyed almost 2 hours there! If you are in the Nashville area, please stop by! My gift to them … my youngest son in the picture below after fishing in North Carolina! Thank you to Andrew and the Fly South Crew!

Best fly shop I’ve ever been to, the tying material section is SICK! I could spend all day in the place. Definitely worth going in if you’re a fly guy.

It's a must stop fly shop...it's everything you need to fly fish. The staff is very knowledgeable and eager to help. I'd say that I like the variety of items sold here, however, June 21, 2024 I went in looking for a particular item.I didn't get the best customer service. Sure, after I went to the front of the store and asked someone to help me I got it, but I just didn't get the best feeling about being there. Kinda like I was keeping him from standing around with the other half-dozen guys talking by the door. I periodically go in there to get tying supplies, and except for the first few time when I went, no one has asked if they can help me or if I need help finding something. I just usually don't get the feeling of good customer service that I do somewhere else. That said, Jim, the owner, and Tucker (I think) are fantastic! I will continue to shop there, I just know who to look for.

Quite possibly the best costumer service experience of my life. I am close to clueless when it comes to fly-fishing and was trying to figure out a special gift for my fly-fishing instructor boyfriend. Andrew at Fly Southall was beyond helpful. He was patient, knowledgeable & informative. I cannot recommend this place enough, and even have a new appreciation for their impressive inventory ... If you have any fishing / outdoorsy needs whatsoever, look no further than Fly South !
