Interesting music store with a great vibe. The first thing they said whenever me and my son walked in was "play whatever you like!" Just the way of music store should be.

Passing through Nashville on a business trip, and had an afternoon to go see some great guitars. I've been to Gruhn's a couple of times, so I wanted to see the competition, and Fanny's didn't let me down. Its much smaller, but they have some really beautiful instruments. My favorite was a very rare Martin. It was small, but had a beautiful, booming tone. I cant believe so much sound can come out of such a small guitar. Unfortunately, I'll need to win the lottery to afford it, but when that day comes, I'll be back for it.Ellen and Charlie were working the day I came in, and both were friendly and knowledgable, and patiently listened to a few of my old stories. If you are in Nashville, and seriously considering spending money on a good guitar, don't make your final decision until you stop in to Fanny's to see what they have.

Always has great finds. Seems to be the only place in town with a decent banjo, uke, and mandolin selection. Good vibes.

Love this shop! You never know what you'll find there. We got a beautiful Takamine F360 from 1976 there yesterday. They also had a D28 Martin next to it to compare. It is an exact copy of the Martin. Incredible! They have a great website and customer service too. Thanks y'all!

I saw a cool vintage acoustic guitar on Fanny's website, and bought it over the phone. It's a 1964 Harmony made from now-rare Honduran mahogany and Brazilian rosewood, beautifully restored to better than new condition. A unique instrument, I jumped on it at this price, and it sounds amazing. It was a pleasure doing business with Fanny's House of Music over the phone, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience.

I work in a music store in New York so you’ll know I mean it when I say I had a wonderful experience at Fanny’s and I highly recommend going there

This is THE place. I brought in my grandfathers banjo that I inherited after his passing, and it was in rough rough shape. Like, smelled like tobacco, bits were broken or askew, covered in dust so thick the instrument was gray. Firstly, I call beforehand and the lady on the phone was SO KIND, and told me to bring it on in for inspection. I show up and immediately they take a brief look at it and seemed very knowledgeable. They also let me know beforehand that 1) fixing it up may cost more than buying a new one and showed me a brief list of banjos I could purchase if I wanted and 2) let me know that if I do want it fixed up they will call me with a quote before doing any work. I felt totally safe and that my instrument was in great hands. So I give it to them, and they give me a call a couple weeks later with the final quote, and it was VERY reasonable and affordable. I was so elated because it feels like, today, everything breaks the bank- and I wanted to learn this instrument for the sentimental value AND to have an outlet to put my energy and have a better mindset- so to now have this instrument without it destroying my bank account means so much. I pick up the banjo- today- and it looks and sounds absolutely fabulous. Not a single thing wrong with it. I can’t wait to be the worlds best banjo player, thanks to Fanny’s. And a huge thank you to the entire team, they were all incredibly sweet, professional, and the process was very easy for me. Skip any Guitar Center and come to Fannys.

I'm super depressed. I called and had a very special guitar on hold exactly like my first guitar. After going through hell to get the money together I called today and they sold it to a customer. Yesterday they said it was definitely on hold for me.

This place is awesome. Our son got to play so many instruments. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We really appreciate the time Hank took to answer questions and give pointers.

I've always passed by and wanted to stop and check out the retail/vintage items they had. Was in the neighborhood today with some time to kill so I decided today was the day. The clothing selection was not really my style but they have tons of cute accessories and adorable earrings.. however, my experience shopping there was terrible. I'm pretty heavily tattooed with blue hair and definitely an alternative style and my friend I was with is African American. Not sure what it was that bothered her, but (I'm assuming manager/owner) stood dead still and watched us shop the entire time until we made it to check out and then she retreated to the back. It was super uncomfortable. The retail person was, on the other hand, VERY friendly and nice to communicate with. I wouldn't recommend going here if you don't look like a basic ass person because our type definitely isn't welcome there unfortunately.

I love this place!!! They have a great selection of instruments, but they also have a mind blowing selection of ukeleles!!! I bought a great ukelele from them and they have great prices. 10/10 if you are a musician, or especially a ukelele player, you need to stop here.

Such a gorgeous music shop celebrating women in music in its every nook and cranny . Spent a part of my afternoon checking out the shop. They have beautiful selection of acoustic as well as electric guitars, banjos, ukuleles, basses and a small but helpful workable selection of amps and accessories. There is also a room for your vintage clothing needs and some vintage accessories as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. Really love that East Nashville has a space like Fanny’s. Brought home some fun items from this store back to Chicago. Hope to see you all again soon.

They had some super cool vintage pieces from Martin, Gibson and many many other brands.Pricing was very reasonable. All around a fantastic shop and I will definitely be back. There is also a hot dog stand next store which was fun.
