Kelvin did a wonderful job with getting my rental set up for me. The pricing was fair and the vehicle was extremely clean as well! I’ll definitely frequent this location for any rental needs. Shout out to the rest of the team that assisted as well.

We had booked a car and had called ahead to confirm when we could come pick it up. When we arrived they told us there were no cars available despite our reservation. They had this information before and could have informed us on the initial call. The only cars available were in the airport location.Because of this lapse in communication, not only did we lose out on precious vacation time to get another car, we had to spend money on Ubers going one place to another. We chose to book in the city for convenience, instead it led to a lot more headaches.Attendants were very unhelpful in helping us find a solution to the problem.

This right here is the epitome of customer service, and Richard puts the “care,” in customer care. I wasn’t even their customer, actually.I accidentally called the wrong Avis after having difficulty making progress getting a reservation change made, on Avis’ main number.I explained due to a medical emergency, our plans have changed and Richard could not have been more empathetic. He immediately gave us one less thing to worry about, alleviating an additional burden from an already stressful situation.I couldn’t recommend this location more. Skip the airport and go down the street if you want individualized service.

I had no issues with the staff here at Avis but Avis’ car selection leaves a lot to be desiredWe did not want an electric car cos this city has no points availableDo not trust any of the charging points shown on maps, they do not existAvoid getting and EV at all costsThese people should stop renting then considering the infrastructure available here

I had a great experience using the Downtown location. After reading some negative reviews I was concerned about my reservation. Everything went smoothly. The office staff was very friendly and worked quickly and I was in and out within 15 minutes. Car was gassed up and ready to go. Returning it to the Memphis airport went smoothly and quickly too. Don’t believe all the negative reviews. These folks are great!

The. Absolute. Worst. Give your money to literally anyone else.Made my reservation nearly a week in advance. Got there, and of course, decades after Seinfeld, they still don't know how to HOLD the reservation, so of course they didn't have the car I reserved.Not that it mattered, because then they couldn't rent me the car they were going to saddle me with, because their drivers' license reading machine was broken.Cost me $30 in Uber charges to get there and back, for absolutely nothing, and they completely wrecked my plans.I hope one day to see this terrible company bankrupt.

I was here to help my mother get a rental car. The 365 ID scanner would not allow a rental- this has happened to me before and there are other ways to circumvent and validate a DL. Avis refused to do so. The employees are given zero ability to read a drivers license and depend only on this machine. The man behind the counter then proceed to address my mother as “young lady”- a 65 year old woman should NEVER be addressed this way. They were rude and not helpful.

Terrible experience. I had a prepaid confirmation but was told that morning no cars (Jackson, TN). I had to drive 2 hours to another location (Nashville, TN) where Avis again conformed a car. Upon arrival, there was no car waiting for me! I had to wait another 1.5 hours for them to get one, and it was much bigger than what I reserved resulting in significantly greater fuel costs for my multi-state trip. Total nightmare.*Follow up*: I contacted customer service and asked then to escalate to someone who could refund my money. The response was to tell me to call (wasting more of my time) but I want a response in writing (paper mail, secure web portal, etc). I'm STILL WAITING. Abysmal customer experience. Inexcusable. I will avoid Avis in the future, and I suggest you do the same.
