Absolutely the worse place to take anyone you love and care about! The hospitalist (Dr. Bannerman) that was in charge of my husband was the worst doctor I’ve seen in my entire life. The four days my husband was a patient there they ran only two test and decided he was “good” to go home. He came in through the ER and they were AMAZING they diagnosed him with multiple PE’s in all lobes of his lungs, plaque in his aorta and hardening of his arteries. They also told us what tests he needed once he was admitted but those tests were never done. We never seen a cardiologist or a pulmonologist, even though I requested to see them multiple times. They put him on 8 liters of oxygen for 2 days then lowered it to 6 the day after that. The morning he was to be discharged his oxygen dropped from 94 to 90 and then to 86. But still, he was “fine” to go home.
I even tried talking with the case manager (Lisa) but she was going to bounce me back to Dr. Bannerman to resolve the issues. Even though I had just told her that he and I weren’t seeing eye to eye and I needed her help to resolve these issues!! So she was no help either.
Do you and your loved one a favor and go anywhere else but here because they do not care about the well being of their patients.

A nurse at St Thomas risked my life and has no remorse or empathy. The hospital also refuses to hold this nurse accountable. I would recommend you seek medical care elsewhere if you value your life. You might not make it out of this hospital alive.

This hospital is one of the worst ever. My husband was admitted on Thursday night with severe jaundice. He received no food on Friday as the Dr did not chg his chart because his surgery was Sunday. Asked to take a shower to a nurse who said that she would have to get a wrap for his iv. He never saw her again. Also I requested a call after his surgery and he called me 2 hrs after the surgery. No excuse for what our ins is probably being charged for this stay.

My Dad was admitted to the Oncology floor for acute myeloid leukemia. His AFIB medication was held, which put him into AFIB. Now, he’s in ICU two hours from home and is too weak to take chemo. To add insult to injury, the ICU nursing manager will not allow both me and my 77 year old mother to spend the night in the room with my Dad. We were told we could go home or one of us could sleep in the lobby. I guess the nurse manager has not been trained on risk management. Usually lawsuits are brought upon hospitals not because of a medical mistake but the response after a medical mistake.

In the cardio version section of Saint Thomas Midtown Heart I was impressed with all
the nursing staff. Hilary was cheerful, efficient and reassuring. She expertly conveyed comfort along with first class professionalism in my care..

This is by far the worst establishment I’ve been to in all my decades of being alive & that includes third world countries on the other side of the planet! 2+ hours of wait time are absolutely unacceptable!!! This establishment will not value your time; but of course will harass you a couple of days before your appointment to check in a pre fill and all of that. Absolutely THE worst medical center in the USA. Go elsewhere.

Love the nurses, some are angels on Earth. Food isn't bad for a hospital.

In today’s society, people are scared of going to the hospital because of much negligence but this is definitely not the case with St. Thomas. There are too many people to name that deserve high acknowledgment for their care. The nurses, phlebotomists, case managers, head doctors, chaplains, and yes, even the food was beyond excellent. This hospital is more concerned with saving and improving lives more than putting people’s lives on an “assembly line” for money. I have so many thank you’s to write as well as planning to volunteer whenever I am completely well. Thank you St. Thomas for providing care for “life” and not “conditional treatment” based upon status. The name represents one of the Apostles of the Bible and the ones who cared for me represented the hospital just as Apostle Thomas represented Jesus Christ.

This is the nicest, most professional hospital I have ever been in. I had to have a full hysterectomy and From the valet, and check in, all the way through my experience was great. My Doctor, Dr. Nizam was Awesome. My nurses (all of them) were amazing. Î love this hospital. Whoever is in charge should be most proud.

Zero stars, zero anything. I had my children here. This hospital was 10,000% better as Baptist. This hospital literally has no compassion for anyone. They have the most heartless Drs. I literally may have found one that had a good bed side manner in 2 weeks. The rest are cold, lifeless. Even 2 of the Chaplins met where blank and cold to the care of loved ones. My Father was brought here when I didn't want him to be, and no one here knows how to properly convey information about a loved one in a caring a respectful manner. We had a few good nurses, but that doesnt change the over all care we saw, and them literally refusing to chnage antibiotics or treat pacific bacteria. They literally knew his WB was not going down. He went in responding, and became unresponsive within 5 days of being here and wss going to send him home that way with NOTHING. I know they knew my father was bleeding after a LP, and did nothing. Then he was bleeding in his throat after a procedure, and raspy with it and had dried blood all in his mouth, throat and face to clean him out, and let him aspirate and die. They were still pulling out old blood as he laid and died and told me the day before it was normal for him to be rattling blood ? This hospital is another broken piece in our medical care system. They need to deeply work on compassion and relaying facts in full. If we didn't ask the right questions, we got nothing on his condition. He had a team come in the night before he coded to check him for sepsis and literally just did cultures that would take 3 days to get back! If your taking your loved ones here that are older or can't walk STAY AWAY. THEY WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO LET THEM DIE. My Father has been in many hospitals, this one was the absolute worst!!! Was lifeless and had zero compassion. They are so focused on having babies, and money, they are blind to what's important as a hospital and care for all patients. Please don't go here. I plan to tell as many as I possibly can not to. Your loved one WILL DIE HERE if you do!
