“Modfellows, tucked away in the heart of South Nashville near the Zoo, is nothing short of a hidden artistic marvel and my absolute favorite gallery in the city. This gallery exudes a profound passion for art, curation, and collecting, evident in every corner of its inventive space. Here, both emerging talents and established artists find their canvas, making it a hub of creative dynamism. What sets Modfellows apart is its refreshing absence of the typical art-world snobbery and exclusivity. It's a welcoming haven for art lovers from all walks of life. A visit here is more than worth your while; it's a must.”

“Art/design Home goods store located in Germantown. One of the best shops I've visited in Nashville and possibly the country. They offer furniture, kitchen items, pillows, perfune😄, incense, clothing, rare books/magazines etc. The key is everything is well made and high quality with a focus for design. Many Japanese items. Perfect place to pick up home furnishings of a fun quirky gift. Be prepared to spend and arm and a leg as nothing comes cheap.”

“I have been getting all my framing needs done at WC for thirty years. I could always count on the late Mr. Nathanael Harris for quality work and great customer service. He was a pillar of Nashville. Went in this week to pick up a piece framed under the supervision of the new owner, his daughter, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. She is committed to the same principles of handling your art work with care and showcasing its beauty with a lovely framing job. Let’s keep this small business owner open and thriving in the Jefferson St. business community.”

“Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I took a sentimental watercolor in after my house had a lot of damage from a frozen pipe. The gentleman inspected the matting and replaced the backing paper, all while I waited.”

“This gallery is a must see. It's got NYC taste and feel, with southern warmth. My art works friend moved from NYC to Nashville. We are alumn of the Skowhegan Program. We spent the most time at this gallery, and had the most satisfaction venturing here. It was inspirational from an artist's point of view. The gallery owner w said hello. That was nice!”

“Robert is super helpful and willing to work with you to find the right frame for your piece. I asked him to fix a frame that got damaged during a move and frame a piece I bought a long time ago.He had a bunch of really cool frame options in the shop, was up front about price, and ultimately helped me to come up with a beautiful frame for my piece. Honestly it was a lot of fun to work with him in picking out a frame you can tell he enjoys what he does and is very good at it.I will definitely be going back!”

“Must see in Nashville. Cozy, small and atmospheric gallery with beautiful works by European and American artists of the first half of the 20th century. And not only. Admission is free. As a bonus, there is a walk around the territory of the University, which in some places also resembles a museum.”

“When R and I visited Nashville in November, we stopped at Loveless Cafe for lunch. However, because there were so many people ahead of us, we had to wait for our time slot. Thankfully, customers can browse through some stores, including Shimai, on the Loveless property while they're waiting. Shimai features art, crafts, pottery and other creations produced by local artisans. When I walked in, I had a sense of calmness come over me. It helped that this store was well lit and the sunshine flooded the place through the multi-paned windows. This little store seemed like a museum, with everything being so nice. I can't even begin to imagine how many total countless hours it took the many local artists to create everything that was in Shimai. The were pottery pieces, handblown glass art, paintings, jewelry, women's articles of clothing, and so many pieces of art that can be hanged on the wall. Just know that most of these art pieces come with a high price. But they're very beautiful!”
