I placed an order for for a physical textbook rental on the first day of the semester. I assumed due to the weather that week I would most likely not receive my textbook right away. The following Monday, I still had not received my book. Considering it was my second week of classes and I had paid $16 for 2day shipping, I sent an email to the bookstore to find out when my textbook would arrive. Jennifer Brown emailed me back and told me that it had been sent out that same, Monday. On Wednesday my book still has not arrived, so I called the book store, and no one answered. I sent out a message that day to the bookstore about a tracking number, and received no response. Thursday I emailed the again, and finally received an response this morning (Friday) that stated they would contact the publisher. I finally called the 1-877 support number and was told my textbook was in fact NOT sent out on Monday, because it was on back order. Sounds to me that instead of actually helping me, Jennifer lied to me and told me my textbook had been sent out. This is lazy and inexcusable. Especially when a students grades/assignments are at stake.

As an MTSU undergrad student, I refuse to, on principal alone, give 5 stars at this time. The bookstore is fully functional, and probably under funded most of the time, the people who work it do their best as much as possible, but they are still only humans trying to help other humans.

I’ve been charged for books I returned on time, spent hundreds of dollars on access codes that weren’t sent to me, stood at the counter waiting for help while employees fraternized with each other. I’ve used Phillips for 4 years, but if I had to do it again, I would go across the street to Textbook Brokers.

Very rude employees when I went in today. Quite snappy when I tried to return a textbook. They are also very unlikely to buy books back.

Don't bother. Inventory is non existent. Go across the street to textbook brokers.
