I haven't been to GameStop in a while. I did take my daughter there on Saturday 2/17/24. She used her $10 gift card on a talking furby. She unboxed it once we got home and it didn't work. We went back on Monday 2/18/24 to exchange it, but the manager said it couldn't be returned since it was open. This was the GameStop on Old Fort Pkwy. So, she just lost her $10 on a defective item because the store manager was too ignorant to understand the item was defective out of the box. Here's some friendly advice for the store manager. Use your common sense on this type of situation. At the very least, he could have given her a $10 gift card for the amount she spent. Never going back to GameStop.

I used to work for this store and my god has it gotten worse. The new store leader is inconsiderate with his employees and customers and doesn’t follow the basic structure of being a GameStop employee. I walked in, store wasn’t busy, I have no clue if he was doing anything, but he saw me and neglected to say hello and inform me on any new deals or anything upcoming. He also didn’t bother to check my rewards like I’ve had with other employees from other stores when I knew I had a new monthly $5 reward on my account. Also I was not aware of the new trade policies the company’s implementing, which is ridiculous when Play N Trade and Game Trader still offer cash. But I overheard him saying this to another customer who obviously became just as distraught as I was over it, but he spoke to her in a tone as if he didn’t care one bit. Like dude? What happened? GameStop is supposed to be far more engaging and interactive than this. I remember back when I was working for the store and the mall location was still around that if all of the stores were to shut down, Old Fort would be the last to go. With this new manager, it feels more like this one will go next and the S Rutherford Blvd location will be the last. Also I bought a new game and he put the god awful sticker seal on it that leaves reissue once it’s been peeled back off. Fortunately, I took it off quick enough so that it wouldn’t leave any. I asked him not to apply it, but he said had to a part of store policy and procedure. That’s fine, but can you not at least express some form of emotion when explaining it to me.

Martin would not accept my military ID as a form of ID when buying mature game. I have been shopping there for 20+ years and this is the first time that happens.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. All the other gamestops in the area are extremely more friendly and more professional. I was shamed for putting in an online order and coming in three hours after I placed it and being told "not to come back until the email has been sent". I then retuned six hours later asking for the playstation 5 (that mind you I already paid for) and was given extreme attitude about how I bought my playstation wrong and to come in the store and do it next time.....0/10 experience

I purchased an xbox elite 2 controller in 12/16/2022 from the gamestop of 2866 S. Rutherford Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 store#5721. When purchasing the controller we were offered a 1 year or a 2 year warranty, if anything happens with the controller we can bring it in and get it replaced with a brand new one, no charge. I recently started having issues with the RB button and took it in today to 1970 Old Fort Pkwy Ste 3, Murfreesboro, TN, and Marvin told me although I was told I would receive a brand new one when I bought it, that they changed the process just 1 month ago and now I'm only entitled to a used or refurbished(fancy term for used) controller. Marvin expressed(poorly) that his hands are tied and there is nothing he can do. I then called customer service and spoke to Marty who said I can take it back to the location I purchased it at and that he would call them before I got there and see if they can take care of me. We get to the rutherford location, Samuel Whitman was very nice and Samuel tried to reach out to his area manager Michelle multiple times and was unsuccessful, he was able to get ahold of his store manager who had authorized for him to give me a new one, but unfortunately the location states they did not have one on hand, just a display box. While Samuel was checking with the location in Smyrna to see if they can help me, the other associate said how Marvin gets complaints left and right, and that he should have offered us a new one to make this right. The Smyrna Nissan location ultimately told them no they wouldn't help us, but told Samuel there is a refurbished controller online that he could order and to offer that to me. I was told when I bought the warranty, if there are any issues I can bring it back within 2 years and get a brand new one. I offered both locations an opportunity to refund me for my warranty, refund me for the controller and take it back or to get me a brand new one which is what I was promised when I was talked into purchasing the warranty. I will take this as far as I need to, policy changes after a purchase that interefere with the promises and prior policies are unethical and I will not let this go. I want a refund for my controller completely, or allowed to turn it in for a brand new elite 2 controller. Contact me. If not contacted I will continue to report this business to all the proper channels.

It’s an alright store. It’s definitely seen better days but my main complaint is I called to place a preorder for spider-man 2 and was met with a rude employee that belittled me and acted as if I had no clue what a midnight release was. It’s sad that a customer asks a question over the phone and the employee just talks down to you. It’s safe to say I’m just gonna buy my games digitally from now on.
