I always feel the location on W College St. in M'boro take my car needs seriously but don't try to oversell me - as a single female, I've had that happen at other places. They explain what's important and what can be delayed if I need to .

My wife and I had some problems with our vehicle while in the area for our wedding. The day of (Black Friday), I called around to figure out who was open and could look at it on short notice. Thankfully, this location said they could. Great! We could hear a suction sound coming from right behind the dash anytime we accelerated, so I knew it was something with the turbo. Either a loose/broken hose or a cracked pipe. Which I told them. My friend and I had looked to see if we could find where the leak was coming from, but being where it was, we weren’t able to see it.I sat in the lobby for about 2 hours when they came and said that it was a clogged engine filter and a damaged mass airflow sensor. They got this from just running diagnostics and never putting the car on a lift to check for the problem that I informed them about. I took their word for it and they told me it would be a few hours for them to get the sensor in. So I left and came back when it was finished. Immediately upon driving away, I could still hear the suction sound. I called them and they said I could bring it back for them to look at either then or the next day (it had to be the next day because we were getting married that night). The next day, I went in and spoke to the branch manager. I let him know what happened and explained that we didn’t have time to wait for them to look at it again as we were headed home to get on a flight for our honeymoon. I was a little annoyed that I had let them know what the problem was, and they chose to ignore me and fixed something that didn’t need fixed. After talking for a bit, I conceded to just getting a refund for the diagnostics and labor while still paying for the parts. Which would be fine if the parts weren’t so inflated. $800 for an engine filter and mass airflow sensor is insane. Especially when it didn’t fix the problem. When we got back from our honeymoon, we took the car to our local shop, and lo and behold, it was just a hose that had come loose. One new clamp later, and it was good as new. Easily noticeable when it was put on a lift. This is just another one of those places that does the bare minimum while up charging everything to the maximum. I’ll never set foot in a Firestone again, and I would suggest everyone else find a more reliable and honest mechanic.

Made an appointment, which was pointless as after 3 hours, they still hadn't even pulled my car in. The alignment computer was down, so they couldn't do alignments. It was just a really long oil change. Not impressed. Why have appointments if they mean nothing?

Friendly atmosphere. Great and helpful employees. Nice waiting area with tv. And a little kiosk with drinks and snacks you can buy.

I had an appointment at College St location at 11am on July 14 to put new tires on my vehicle . Two hours after arriving at the shop , still no sign of my car even being moved . I ask the young man at the desk why the long delay and if there was an issue that was causing service times to be unusually long. I expressed my concerns and let it be known that I did not want to be here “all day !” I do not expect to be placed at the head of the line , nor did I that day either. When one has an appointment for service or a doctors visit or any such thing etc. , then one should be able to reasonably expect that they will receive that service in a timely manner. My vehicle was received at 11:08am and I paid the bill for service at 5:58pm. There is no reason , no reason that it took nearly 7 hours to have my vehicle serviced and returned to me on this occasion . I asked what the reason for such a delay might have been . I was told , “ahh, we just got a little behind.” I am very disappointed with the whole situation . This service appointment by far is the worse that I have experienced , but it certainly is not the only one that was less than “customer approved “ when I have dealt with Mastercare locations.

Stay away from this location. It used to be the best now so much so. Made online appointment for oil change. Request 9:30 am. They sent email said one pm. Got the vehicle there at 10 am. Said I need my vehicle back by 5pm. Get to this place at 4:50 pm and my vehicle never moved . Go inside and the man takes my name after I stood there for 8/10 minutes to even be greeted. That’s ok folks can be busy. To only be looked at like I was at the wrong place. He couldn’t find my keys or my paperwork. So he goes outside and said oh well your next. I say sir I can’t wait anymore because I have work to go to. Well he never said I am sorry or anything just gave me keys and said next. Wow. What a awful experience.

I wanted to write about my experience with Firestone @ W. College Street. My daughter called and asked for a single tire to be put on our 2105 vehicle. She specifically asked to have the least expensive tire installed. When I went to pay, I was presented with a $297 bill!! When I asked the gentleman about it, his reply was "this is the least expensive tire we have for this vehicle" The fascinating thing is that he kept a straight face while telling me this rubbish!!I am cutting up the Firestone credit card and throwing it in the trash can. I am also calling the corporate office and letting them know about the quality of people (franchisee or corporate management) they have representing them!!This review is meant for future customers to avoid these dishonest people. It is not a matter of the dollars, it is a matter of trust! Once broken, it is almost impossible to mend!!

Quality work but every appointment I’ve had (oil change and/or tire rotation), it is 3 to 4.5 hours of waiting in the lobby before they even bring my car to the garage to begin working on it. What the hell is the point of scheduling an appointment?!? This has been both on weekends AND weekdays. Very inefficient system they have going on and without a care in the world.Services: Tires

Disappointed. I had a flat. I brought the tire in to get fixed and was told it would be about 3 hours. I had driven over on the spare so instead of waiting there I said call me when it's ready. Six and half hours later I get a call. I go in and am told I now have to wait another three hours to get it put on. WTH?Update: They came out after an hour and a half to tell me oops the tire wasn't ready after all.Service: Tires
