I had a very disappointing experience at CarMax in general (Not Necessarily Murfreesboro). I had a 2023 Vehicle Shipped to the Murfreesboro store. In the pictures they disclosed it looked like it was in perfect condition, it was far from that. The rims had all been curbed, there was a bad bearing in one of the wheels, and there was chunks of rubber missing out of the tires. (Apparently they do a quality inspection too!!) LOL
They would’ve just sold it to me that way had I not said something. Plus I thought they did a quality control check on these cars. FYI IT WAS A 2023 model vehicle with 18K miles on it.
The lack of transparency made me lose trust in this dealership. I ended up taking my business elsewhere and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a straightforward and honest car-buying experience.
I will say they did refund me my shipping fee for having the car shipped from Louisiana. About the only good thing they did, after I threatened to have my credit card Company refund the cost due to non disclosure.
Buyer Beware of the lack of Transparency with this company!!!

Sold me a lemon - 5 transmissions in first year of owning. Warranty is garbage. Never buying from CarMax ever again.

My wife and I have purchased several vehicles from Carmax. Every experience has been wonderful. This was the first time buying one from the Murfreesboro store and it will not be the last. Everyone was helpful, understanding and patient.

Absolutely horrible if I could leave a negative star I would! My wife and I sold her car to carmax on September 29th they were supposed to send the money to the bank so that her car would be paid off instead she was charged by the bank today Oct 15th for the payment of the car we sold to carmax. When contacted carmax told her that they just sent the check a couple days ago to the bank and there is nothing they could do about it and to contact the bank. The bank told her that before they do anything they have to receive the payment from carmax and then they would cut her a check and send it by mail for what was wrongfully taken out of her account which they said would be approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks. So since carmax dropped the ball now we have to live without that money in our account for who knows how long. Car max could have atleast offered to cut her a check for what was taken today and then had the bank just sent the money they took out to carmax! Unbelievable don’t do business with this company!

I only have one negative thing to say about my CarMax experience. I purchased a 2024 Toyota tundra hybrid platinum. It only came with one key fob and I was responsible for buying the second. It’s not the money part that irritated me. Since everything on these new vehicles are electronic if your key fob is lost or broken or stolen you have to have your vehicle picked up and taken back to the dealership. It is a risk I was not willing to take and paid almost $500 to have a new key fob and key made. This is the second vehicle I have purchased through com In the last two months.

I love the car I got. I don’t feel like the online people communicate well with the store people because I did everything online and then had to redo everything when I got in the store because it wasn’t communicated properly to the store. That being said the store manager at the Murfreesboro location overheard my frustration and did everything he could to make it right. That in itself turned the experience around and I would definitely buy from Carmax again

Process was pretty seamless! Had the car transferred, set up time to test drive and purchased! Trade in process was the only rough part. They couldn't find info for my payoff with Mazda. Delayed the overall process by almost an hour. Seems to me a company this big should have a process in place to assist with payoff details when customer does not have an official payoff statement. Would recommend sales people aee more knowledgeable on the cars they sell. No guidance or car set up was provided and couldn't answer questions on the car. I realize they sell all makes of cars but some knowledge wpuld be helpful. Other than that, the process was super easy. Will definitely recommend and use Carmax again. Thank you

Disappointing experience. The sales associate, Jeremy was terrible and rude. The vehicle was dirty on the inside. We found out it had two recalls on it. Took it to Honda for servicing of the recall, found it to be out of alignment and the air filters were filthy. Honda found a large rodents nest inside the dash. I called the sales person, Jeremy. He told me to call the service department at Carmax and make an appointment, it wasn't his job. I called him about the recalls earlier in the week. He said Carmax wasn't aware of them, and he can't fix what he doesn't know. He was not willing to help or guide us in any directions. He had a terrible attitude once the sale was complete and he received his commission. The sales manager at Carmax had Honda fix all the issues and Carmax paid for it. We appreciated his efforts.

CarMax experience was excellent, the offer they gave me for my car was the real offer they paid me. The atmosphere was very clean and friendly. My person that helped me was very professional and polite. I would 100% recommend any one buying or selling ba car to go to CARMAX?
