Rice's Country Hams is a third-generation family-owned and operated business that has been producing high-quality country-cured meats since 1933. The business was started by Ed Rice Sr. in his backyard smokehouse, and the art of curing country hams has been passed down to his son-in-law, Scott Dabbs, and daughter, Ginny, who now proudly carry on the family tradition. The business is only open for a few months out of the year, as it takes a full year to cure a traditional country ham. Customers praise the business for its great-tasting country ham, which is perfect for making the best red-eye gravy. The staff is described as friendly and helpful, with the owners going above and beyond to assist customers, such as helping them select the right ham for their needs. The business is also known for its wide selection of other country-cured meats, including bacon and sausage, which are perfect for immediate consumption or gifting to friends and family.

Best hams you will ever eat. The original building from the early 1900s. Founding family still owns and operates the place. They cure their own hams. Not overly salty. I will definitely be going back.everyone was friendly and ready to tell the history of the store.
