**I hardly ever write reviews, but this was SO ridiculous that I felt I needed to warn people. So, glad for the people who have had good experiences here, but I definitely DID NOT. There is a reason they have such a LOW score.**
This has to be THE worst vet I have ever been to. I was weary because of the reviews, but figured it was much closer than my regular vet and it says affordable vet care. It is no cheaper than the other vet I was going to and they also do not call in any prescriptions anywhere. So, not to walgreens or costco etc. You have to come physically pick up the script. My cat was seen because we were pretty sure he had hyperthyroid. Turns out he did. After a $300+ vet bill we were given pills there and asked to come back to check bloodwork again to make sure it was working before being able to get more pills (totally understandable.) So I came in to just check 1 level which was his T4 and they charged me a vet visit and about the same amount of money for a T4 draw that his full senior panel cost the first time. He was well within normal range now and doing well. Gained weight, etc. I call to try and get pills for him since he is running out and they say that they cannot prescribe him anymore pills unless he comes in and does another draw and that they cant call in a script regardless.
I said he is doing fine and his tests showed he was within normal range and I can't afford the $300 it will cost me to come in there at this time. The front desk person said she could get a script to me if I picked it up. She then called me back saying that she could not do this but she could get me a couple of pills until I could get in or talk to the doctor who would be in on Monday, but that he would still have to get bloodwork to fill another prescription. So, I said I will have to call her back and let her know, but I may just have to get him to another vet since I can't afford another $300 this month. I called back to talk to the vet today and it turns out they deactivated my account there and the vet wouldn't speak to me and they would not reactivate my account. TERRIBLE! I have already gotten with another vet and I will be getting his script tomorrow for his MUCH needed meds. This place is a JOKE. Go anywhere else.

I’ve been taking my dog here for almost 3 years now. My dog gets pretty overwhelmed with everything and tends to go a bit crazy lol. CHRISTINA and TYLER were his vet techs this time. They did such an amazing job and were so patient with him. I really can’t thank them enough considering this was the second attempt to get his vaccinations.

I called this place on a Saturday to get my 2 cats seen, thinking I wouldn't be able to get them in. One of the techs answered and was so very kind about checking to see if they had any openings. Luckily they we're able to get me in and the entire staff was easy to talk to about my cats' complex medical history. I appreciated the thouroughness and thoughtfulness of the staff and I didnt feel rushed when explaining things to them. They handled my kitties with absolute care and I would definitely bring them back here! Thank you for all your hard work and being open on the weekends for things that I didn't feel comfortable waiting after a holiday weekend! ❤️

Called to see if they had an appointment available for same day visit for my dog who had been dealing with a minor issue all weekend. Nothing that needed an emergency visit as far as I could tell. Lady answers the phone and I explain the situation. She point blank laughs at me and says, “You thought you were gonna get an appointment today?” Really? That’s funny.”
Yea that’s why I called. No need to be rude about me asking to see someone about the well-being of my dog. I know where I won’t be going for sure.

***************WARNING******************* Stay far far away from this clinic. I was trying to get a rescue kitty help. I saw Dr. Smith who is no longer at the clinic, she missed diagnosis many conditions 7/27/24 then on 7/31/24 called and pick up medicine that did not help 8/4/24 called and I was brushed off by Dr. Suzanne Gibson told by her to give more time 8/6/24 say Dr. Suzanne Gibson (what a piece of work) she refused to help my rescue kitty because I called her out for not listening to the problem. Also, in the past I took another of my cat to this clinic after spending lots of money, they could not find the problem and my cat died shortly after. Dr. Gibson refused to treat, and I had the office manager talk to me and she was rude rude rude, I asked to help this cat. She only agrees to run tests and not give me medication of any kind. The test showed Feline Pancreatitis. The receptionist was very rude to me and refused to let me talk to the office manager again. Kelly a tech very very very rude.

I have been going to Affordable Veterinary Care since their opening. They are one of the best veterinary clinics I have been too. Dr Richie is the vet I take all of my cats too, but I have seen a few of the other vets also. I have always received the best care for my pets from the technicians and the vets. They listen to everything and always address any concerns. They provide top care and everyone is professional, empathetic and very friendly. Dr Richie always listens, diagnoses and treats to the highest standards. The techs are also very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I am thankful I found this clinic and plan to continue going there for years to come.
Any bad reviews given here or on other sites should be considered with a grain of salt because if you read them you can tell they aren’t telling the full truth. Any bad experience they had was probably because of their own care of their pet and/or their own behavior and not this clinic or its staff. This clinic and it’s staff operates at a very professional level and provides the best care for any animal brought to them.

I have been a client of this business for 6 years and the way I was treated on the phone was appalling. I can't believe the staff talks to its customers the way they do, or that the owner allows it. From what I've heard this is a common practice. Lori, I believe her name was, told me to take my business elsewhere because I questioned the $50 deposit to make an appointment, then hung up on me. I have never been thrilled with this clinic, but she did me a favor. Thankfully I was able to get my dog seen at a very highly rated vet and couldn't be more pleased with the service and staff.

This practice is not for you or your fur baby, if you expect compassionate care. The initial visit with was horrifying. The vet was very rude, told us nothing about the findings. She snatched our puppy out our arms and took him to another area to do the exam. We where not given any information about the status of his health. The vet basically shouted that he"needed disipline training and to castrated, ASAP!" Twice, she repeated it. Clearly you could tell she did not like this 5# puppy. I called to reschedule the castration appointment, I wanted to find out who would be doing the surgery, I was worried if it was this same vet, that it may not go well. I was told there are many vets that practice there, and I wasn't allowed to know who they are! I also asked to have his initial visit notes emailed to me. All I got was the invoice. Today, I called to reschedule the castration, I had the dates wrong, it was yesterday. We had prepaid on the day of the dreadful exam. I was told that it is unrefundable, and I would have to pay again for the surgery. That was a lot if money! Affordable Veterinary Care of MJ, skimps on important things like care and compassion. Just want your $. Dont go there

The later hours and Saturday hours caught my attention, but do not be fooled.
I called to make an appointment and the person on the phone was very rude and dismissive.
My at the time 10 year old cat wasn't eating, instead of politely getting me on the schedule and taking my business he focuses on the age of my cat, the bad eye, and that my cat must be on its deathbed.
I was incredibly frustrated after I got of the phone because of this person's tone and essentially not thinking my cat was worth it. I was also confused why it would be so hard to give my money to someone to look at my cat.
Anyways we ended up getting an appointment elsewhere and turns out my cat had some bad teeth (which yes we did drop $1400 to fix).
2 years later my now 12 year old cat with one good eye is doing just fine and we are very happy with our new vets at Avenue Animal Hospital.
I had a separate difficult experience at this location in 2021with my at the time oldest cat, but I did appreciate they sent a card after her passing. And not giving a 1 star because they did do a nice job and were very affordable with fixing this little garage kitten I found.
But after that last experience on the phone, will not go back, far better options out there.
