I called the Animal Shelter and they said, "Once you adopt them they are your responsibility." They told me she was 6 weeks old when I adopted her. But, I've raised kittens all of my life and I told them she wasn't any older than 4 weeks.
I called our Vet first. They didn't have an appointment until a week later. I continued calling every Vet in our area. I got the same thing from all of them ... No appointment available.
The last Vet I called was Ridgefield Animal Hospital. They told me to bring her in at 4:00 PM. It was a blessing to get an appointment because I had one very sick kitten. She had an intestinal bacteria. Dr. Hewitt was wonderful to our kitten and to us. He said every kitten in thar litter will have the same thing. And so would the Mama cat which was who the kittens got it from. I notified the Animal Shelter by email telling them that they better contact each person who had adopted a kitten from this litter. Whether they do or not I don't know. But I have my doubts.
I was given medicine for a week to treat my kitten. I'm praying that she will pull through. I fell in love with her as soon as she was posted on the Shelter'ls Site. She and I are very attached to one another. I can't bear to lose her.
My Husband and I highly recommend Dr. Hewitt at Ridgefield Animal Hospital.
You will love him and his entire staff. They are all about the care of your pet and not about the dollars as most Vets are !

“They are the best they took great care of my dog and cat. And the cat got a little bit feisty and the vet calmed him down and took great care of him afterwards I really recommend for you if you love your animals with all your hearts but the smell was bad but great care.”
“We have always received great treatment and service here. We came here for a second opinion as we were considering putting our dog down because of her decline and vet said we had no more treatments. My hubs said let’s get a second opinion and we found Dr. Chambers at Morristown Animal Hospital. He found that “Sugar” had been misdiagnosed and put her on a new and different treatment for the very serious heart disease that was not diagnosed previously. We had 12 great months from that point until she got in distress from her heart and arthritis. We made the choice to help her pass and Dr. Courtney meet us this morning (even though they are closed on Sundays) and very compassionately helped us help Sugar pass gently. Dr. Courtney and her assistant very very accommodating, caring and compassionate with us and gave our daughter and son time to say goodbye. We felt cared for!!! We did not feel rushed and were allowed as much time for closure as we needed. Dr. Cortney even took a look at Ginger(Sugar’s sister) and gave us meds for her ears. We are forever be grateful to them. Dr. Chambers, Dr.Courtney and their staff are the best and I would have no hesitation of referring them to anyone and their pets!!!!”
