Jude, my son, and I spent a short but impactful moment here. Meeting the owners of this gem is a memory we will hold dear. Sometimes people cross paths in such a perfect way. My 8 year old claims that the 30 minutes we spent in this store are one of the highlights of an already amazing vacation! If you are a Beatles fan, a fan of history through photos or just need a breakfast sandwich, this is the place!

I've been going to the Shelby forest state park since I was a little kid. My dad first took me to Shelby forest general store way back when. It's been there for as long as I could recall. I still visit there nearly everytime me and my buddy ride our motorcycles. I usually grab a moon pie and a RC and kick back for a bit.
The owner is a fantastic gentleman. Loves to chat with ya and will cook you a huge burger if you want one. The store exudes old country charm. Be sure to eyeball the beautiful mustang across the street as well. Definitely be sure to stop there if you're in the area, get some food and sit outside under the new table umbrellas they've added and relax.

This is my main breakfast place for whenever you're enjoying the park. Great old school service, lots of Backerman's products to look at, great disc selection for disc golfers, and the cookies and candies are my kids favorites.

This place is amazing in every way! The couple that runs this place is unstoppable. The food reminds me of home…you can find everything you need and then some. Highly recommend stopping back in time.

What a nice down home feel. Greeted as soon as you walk in. Treated like family.
I’m sad we were only in the area for one night. We did stop for breakfast this morning and had the best breakfast biscuits ! Wide variety of snacks and homemade jams/pickled items. Will definitely visit again!

It's a shame that after 90 years. The store is up for sale. The future of the business is uncertain. The staff were super friendly, and the owners were awesome. They even carried my box out to my car for me, and while they're still open, go have a hamburger

Our family had a late lunch here on the recommendation of Phil at Shelby Forest Archery store. A cute, picturesque old fashioned general store with a sandwich counter. They have burgers, sandwiches, fries, cookies, and other baked goods, along with many jams, jellies, preserves, candy, a large selection of beverages, and other food and supplies. We were greeted right away by the friendly people sitting outside, who hurried in to help us. The food was made to order and served hot (aside from the baked goods). We got 2 cheese burgers, an order of seasoned fries, a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken fingers for the kids, a Philly cheesesteak, a package of chocolate chip cookies , and some drinks. The bottled sodas were great! The service was friendly and welcoming. There is seating inside as well as ample seating outside on the deck. We really enjoyed our lunch and will return when we are in the area!

It's my favorite place to visit when I am passing through. I will drive out of my way to visit the store and see Doug and Kristen the owners. They make everyone feel like family.
