“Very classy and nice. Only issue was the parking garage. We couldn't get back in to get our vehicle because the doors were locked. Good thing someone was coming out so we could get in.”

“Walking down (or up?) Beale Street on a Saturday afternoon I just happened to notice the Museum & Gallery with a modest sign on the door that said, "Pay What You Wish Today." I was not previously aware of Dr. Earnest C. Withers and his iconic photographs documenting the Civil Rights Movement, but when I poked my head in to check it out, I immediately knew it was worth an in-depth look and I beckoned my traveling companion (a talented photographer in his own right) to join me in stopping by. As I previously mentioned, though I never heard of Withers, I quickly realized that I've seen some of his most famous photos in other museums, documentary films, and history books. Beyond those few examples, I was impressed by the hundreds of photographs capturing both important figures and events in the Civil Rights Movement. Withers was a truly talented photographer with unprecedented access to people and events, and a great eye for capturing frames that tell an important story. I'd recommend stopping in whether it's "Pay Whatever Day" or not. I was happy to make a generous contribution. (BTW -- you can see more of Withers' work at the National Civil Rights Museum -- another five star venue -- reviewed separately).”

“Had my wedding reception here and it was more prefect that I could have ever imagined! Great location, great food, a good space, a lovely little outdoor space, great service, and they were great about working with our allergy needs. Planning was so much less stressful with Lyn's help. The price was very good for a venue that also provides food, tables, and linens compared to other locations with similar amenities. My spouse and I had the most perfect day, and I know choosing the Magnolia Room played a huge part in making it happen!”

“Attended The Mistletoe Merchant event today at the Ag Center. It was an awesome day! So many vendors with a wide variety of merchandise. Such a nice environment and atmosphere. Parking was a bit tricky because it was so well attended but there were well mannered young people driving carts that took you back and forth to your vehicle. Also there were young men directing traffic. It was a well planned and impressive event.”

“I was invited to a Memphis Wedding Professionals networking event at Bing on Broad. It was my first time hearing of the venue, and I was pleasantly surprised to find something so modern and beautiful and clean on the strip on Broad Ave.The venue is nice and holds about 100 people comfortably. If they open both front doors they can hold up to 150 standing. This is a great little venue for a micro wedding or a birthday party or anniversary party, or perhaps a small reunion or retirement event. The owners are very sweet, and the manager of the venue was possibly even sweeter. The decor was done by the previous owner of the location when it was a couture dress shop. There are lots of mirrors which make for interesting photographs, and a nice contrast between dark and light in the decor. The space has good flow for a party and plenty of dance space for a DJ! Definitely add this venue to your list of ones to look at.”

“Absolutely phenomenal. Beautiful and well kept gardens. I enjoyed every bit of it. They have so many different plants that they can leave outside - nothing like Alberta, Canada. Absolutely beautiful. So many sculptures (not even my pictures covers them all. Highy recommend going! The plant house opened 3 weeks ago is what I was told, and wow. Beautiful. It took me a couple hours to go through just HALF of the gardens and had to run through the rest cause time. ? they have different activities going on. So very much enjoyed it. ?”

“This was my first time here and I loved it. They had check in in the atrium in the main Crosstown building so the theater entrance wasn’t congested. Merch and drinks were sold inside the front doors. Drinks were very reasonable. Your cheapest option is a $3 12oz can of PBR. The theater is quaint and intimate. The acoustics are great. I can’t imagine there being any bad seats.”

“The Renaissance was not what I expected. For some reason I was thinking it was a hotel ball room. Although it wasn't, it was very nice, clean, and a simple banquet hall. Does not take much to decorate it. You have a dance floor, D.J. area, side area for pictures, and a little kitchenette. Overall, It was truly a nice place to have a special celebration. The only thing I did not like was the parking. There isn't anywhere to park.”

“This banquet hall was very spacious and clean. The owners were very professional and helpful. The atmosphere was very welcoming. There was a security guard on the inside as well as one on the parking lot. The food was good and the servers were very friendly and helpful. The place was very comfortable and decorated with a beautiful color scheme. Social distancing was very easy to accomplish. I highly recommend this venue for any special occasion.”
