On Wednesday, September 11th, around 5:45 PM, I visited the deli department and was met with very rude and unprofessional behavior from one of your employees, who I was told is named "Art." When I requested to purchase deli meat and cheese, he seemed to get upset for no reason, mocked me, and began slamming doors. To make matters worse, he threw my order on the counter before walking away without a word.
This experience was extremely frustrating and completely out of line for someone in a customer-facing role. While the cashier I spoke with was polite and understanding, the treatment I received at the deli has made me reconsider returning to your store.
I wanted to bring this to your attention, as I’m sure this isn’t the standard of service you expect at South Point Grocery. I hope steps can be taken to ensure that future customers do not have similar negative experiences.

I've been a regular customer over the last 2 years and have always appreciated the nice staff. I've never had a bad experience here until yesterday. A malfunctioning card reader on the register wouldn't acknowledge my card. The cashier told me they'd had similar problems at another register. I pointed out that it seemed like something was wrong with the card reader. I didn't think much of it until I was told the card was rejected for fraud. I had just shown my ID to the cashier to purchase alcohol and my name is on the card so I was confused. I used a different card, also with my name on it, and when it was rejected too I thought maybe I had been compromised and I didn't want to continue. The cashier pressured me to make more attempts until it rejected the second card for fraud. I checked my account quickly on my phone and I had sufficient funds, no fraud alerts. The manager came and I tried to explain that there was something wrong with their card reader, not my cards. He said it was fraud and left. Cashier took back the groceries. I exited the store and called my bank. They confirmed there was no fraud. I went to Cordelia's about 30 mins later and got groceries with one of the same cards, smooth checkout, no issues. I don't understand how there could be problems with the registers, staff is aware of the problem, and still made me feel as if it was my fault. I can understand being confused in the moment, but I didn't even receive so much as a half hearted "sorry about this." I remember when your registers would mistakenly ring up grapes at 3x the actual price, so please don't act as if you've never had technical problems before. I won't be coming back, but y'all should fix this so the next innocent person just trying to get dinner isn't made to feel like a criminal for no reason.

We were in Memphis for only a few days and this was one of our favorite dinners. We split a reuben from the deli and paired it with dill pickle hummus and baby carrots then ate it on the patio in front of the store.
Great little store and friendly staff.

Perfect downtown market! Nice choice and blend of standard staples and harder to find items. I will try the rotisserie chicken next time. Also, nice selection of meats and even a bargain section for “aged” meats!

Cute little spot for the grocery and deli experience. I had their italian grinder from the deli and it was amazing, but definitely messy - wouldn't want to travel with it very far for integrity's sake. Will definitely be back!

We came the other day to buy some food. We looked for some freshly made Sandwich, but we came to early. So we bought a bread and some toppings. Nice staff, special store but definitely worth to go there.
