Really a crappy location, but even worse, once it gets dark, no one will answer the door and the front door is always locked at dark

I love the sonesta chain… sorry to say the Memphis locations are the first ones I’ve been disappointed with and or SURPRISED ABOUT!
I love the rooms they are very nice! Especially if they have availability in certain buildings !! Just PRAY That you don’t end up in one of the rooms staff let there cousins or boyfriends stay in for months with NO HOUSEKEEPING. Cause that alone will have you in a hotel room with built in roaches, no air conditioning, stopped up sink alone with some Car theft going on outside while security is in the back bumping Ice Cube on HIGH volume . Lol overall I think it’s a staff thing not the whole business.
Rooms: I love the rooms and the styles !!

I stayed here alot 3 years ago but over time the price has gone up and the quality has gone down. Also was told that they would not accept the same cards that I used just months prior, and was told they didn't take the cards then. Now mind you this was after making a reservation, right at midnight, three kids in tow, and a single mom turned away and told well they wasnt supposed to take that card then either. Yet I stayed for about 3 months straight not even a year prior, using the same cards. Was told I had to have a major credit card with a $250 deposit... more than double the cost of the room. The Hilton doesn't even require that. Js.

Roach motel! The roaches are ridiculous crazy. When we checked in it was a smell in the room. We were told it was coming from another room. But the smell was so strong, I investigated it. Apparently the housekeepers placed all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and didn’t start it. This place is crawling with roaches. ? ? ?. And when I tried to go to the general manager about a refund he was too busy flirting and rubbing some girl booty.

The front should be available until 10pm but nobody was there at 9:45 pm when I arrived. No shampoo, no body lotion and I can only use the soap bar to clean myself. Even if it's smoking free room but I can still smell it and weed!

Stayed there in 22 and constantly had trouble with key cards. Went to the front desk numerous times. Halls were nasty with trash that never got picked up. No breakfast or much to offer. Lots of people are hanging around the front desk. I was there 3 days for a medical concern and felt more unsafe there, even though it is a gated community, than I have felt at any property. I had stayed there several times over the years when it was under another brand and felt very safe and cared about.

I can't figure out how this hotel is considered a three-star hotel. I had never stayed in a hotel with cockroaches before this Sonesta. Be warned, as well, that the front desk is not 24 hour - I arrived at around 11:30pm and everything was dark. I had to call a number listed at the front desk. The overnight attendant arrived, and was perfectly pleasant, though it was obvious that I was inconveniencing her at that hour. She showed me my room and I noticed it was a little dirty and a couple things were dilapidated... but I'm not fussy and I was exhausted and didn't want to take up anymore of the attendant's time. I wasn't in the room for more than 2 minutes before a cockroach crawled past my shoe. Then I found another one behind the curtain and another one on the bathroom sink. Also, there was what appeared to be mold on the hand soap bar. I called the number again, hoping to be transferred to a different room, but I was told there were no other rooms and my only choice was to go to another hotel. I don't need many amenities when I'm traveling...but the bare minimum is that the room is clean and there aren't cockroaches.
