We took our Husky, Sky to this dog obedience training school. We had just taken Sky in as a rescue and he lacked confidence and trust. The beginner training program really boosted both. We are certain that Sky had been mistreated so he lacked trust. We highly recommend this training school and the trainers. The cost of the training is also very affordable! ???

Found this hidden gem last month. I wanted to create more of a relationship and team build with my beautiful brown boy Tako. Learning rally is a real treat for us. It provides mental and physical exercise while developing a stronger bond between me and my puppy. We truly enjoy doing the work and meeting new friends both human and K9!

I can’t say enough positives about Shelby County Obedience Club dog training classes. Highly experienced, knowledgeable and versatile class instructors and assistants. A wonderful place for you and your canine companion to learn, bond, have fun and develop tools for at home training maintenance. The club has a great 35+ year history with reasonably priced training classes.

SCOC has been invaluable in helping me with ongoing training for my dog, Callie (a very high energy Springer Spaniel). We started when she was only 4 months old with the basic obedience class, but we eventually progressed to several other classes: Rally, Ob-Fam (Agility) and Scent Work. The teachers and other club members have been a huge help to me in all of the classes. They know so much about dog behavior, and they are eager to share their knowledge. I would highly recommend SCOC for any level of training.

My dog and I have been a member of this club for last three years and it has helped me a lot. My dog is a rescue dog and 2 years old when I got her so she had no obedience and was very adamant. The training in the club helped her learn basic obedience, which now turned into off-leash walking. The club also offers varies classes like agility, sequencing, etc. which helps dogs to develop confidence and learn new things. Given that it is a volunteer club, the prices are almost nothing compared to outside. I highly recommend this club if you are looking for some fun and learning for your dog and yourself.

When Tink was a year old she was scared of people, other dogs, and just about everything! Walks were a nightmare. A friend recommended dog sports to raise Tink's confidence. We started taking Rally classes at SCOC and it made all the difference. Tink is amazing now. Today, almost 9 years later, we are still involved in the club and have made many great friends, both human and canine!

SCOC in the best place in the Memphis area to train or work your dog. Training on all levels or a basic obedience to teach manners with experience teachers. You and your dog can be a great team.

SCOC is an absolute gem for dog training in Memphis. I've taken a number of their classes with my German Shepherds, Ginger and Rio. They have helped us become such a great team and we've even made it to a couple of national jr championship podiums in obedience and agility.Everyone there is incredibly passionate about dogs and dog sports and they're always eager to help in any way they can. For less than the cost of a single class at some training facilities, the annual membership fee gives us access to all of the classes offered. Its such a great deal. As a young person with a limited budget, its been wonderful to have such a welcoming place to train.

I owe so much to the Shelby County Obedience Club. Before we went our latest rescue was wild; stealing food at dinnertime, not leash trained, playing too rough and refusing to stop. Within a few weeks all of this behavior stopped with the training both of us recieved. A few months later and everyone comments on how much she's changed. The trainers and club members are very welcoming and eager to share tips and tricks that make a huge difference.

This location is a convenience store like building mostly glass front building. Located off Summer and Tutwiler on Given. There is a convenience/gas place at the corner and an apartment complex next door. Across.the street is a nice new boys/girls club. Beginner Obedience Class: During the six-week session (one hour per week), dog owners are taught the basics of training their dogs to heel on leash, sit, stand, lie down, stay and come when called. These classes have the added advantage of allowing socialization with other dogs and handlers in a group setting.
