Shelia Henderson is the property manager and she is absolutely incredible. Even though I decided last minute not to move here, I still wanted to give this place 5 stars for location, pricing, and such a wonderful management team.
The only reason I decided not to move here was I found a location downtown that was closer to work and other spots that I frequently visit. I would recommend Poplar Pines to anyone looking for a place to live. I toured one of the rooms and it was very spacious and updated with new appliances. Overall 5 star experience and if something else had not become available last minute this is the place I would want to be living.

I have had a leak when it rains hard and my bedroom floods. They have not fixed the leak or replaced the carpet. This is ongoing from 2010

It’s tolerable besides the walls being thin and the renter above us playing loud music every morning and night. There’s no gate entrance so anyone just comes in. My catalytic converter was stolen from under my car and somehow no camera footage was found.

Pros:Great location , reasonable rent , maintenance is on time, quiet area, washer and dryer in unit .Cons: If you have pets over 25lbs this is not the place for you . They do not let you know about the pet policy at all . Instead, they want you to find out about the policy when they find out about your pet smh ..... Also, there is a major problem with people breaking into cars around here . It happened to me and, management was so unprofessional and seemed not concerned about this recurring event. I even tried to suggest to get better security for the property and management was still unprofessional smh . The inside of the apartment is ok . The paint does chip after normal wear and tear the appliances are outdated if your not in a renovated apartment. I also have had a constant leak in my apartment (maintenance fixed it ) and they have fixed the roof three times since I've been living here for just a year an half and, its back leaking once again smh. Don't let the washer and dryer fool you into thinking this is the place for you because I promise its not .

Popular Pines is an amazing apartment complex. The property manager is always very kind and ensures that all maintained request are handled in a timely manner. The community is very quiet and the neighbors are always nice and look out for each other. I absolutely love this community and would recommend it to anyone.

PROS:
-Awesome location if you work in East Memphis
-Great size 1-bedroom apartments for a good rent rate
-Quiet location (if you can handle the trains) yet access to good restaurants near by
-Ms. Shelia, at the front desk, deserves a 11/10 rating. She is the reason I have stayed in this property so long!!! James, the maintenance guy, is also very great. Without them, this property would not be the same!!
-Parking is always available
CONS:
-Older apartments - 1970's?
-These apartments are not smoke free so I have dealt with smoke through the vents in both units I have lived. They moved me once, from the woman next door who was literally smoking CIGARS in her apartment regularly with the door closed. It was so terrible that they finally transferred me after complaining for 1 year. My new apartment is better but every few days I will get a whiff from other nearby units.
Overall, if I was staying in Memphis, I would continue to live here. Besides the smoke, this apartment would have received a 5/5 star rating.

I love living here. It is so quiet besides the train coming through, but you get used to it. The staff is so nice and if you have any issues they will help within the next couple days. Neighbors are friendly and the apartment is the perfect size. The only issue I've had is with the air conditioning. The units are old so you'll need a good fan during the summer months.
