I went to MCA in the 90's & haven't been back since it closed. It was sad to see it empty, but the park was beautiful & the addition of the dog & kid park was really nice.
Playground: Really cute!
Dog-friendliness: Dog park is nice & shaded
Picnic area: Several picnic tables sprinkled around under trees

Nice area, park, city golf course, very close to Overton Square (clubs and restaurants), cooper young area within a mile with more clubs and restaurants, easier and more sidewalk friendly than Beale Street downtown.
Restrooms: Many
Dog-friendliness: Everywhere except most restaurants
Picnic area: Zoo, Overton Park

Overton park is a beautiful park to spend a quite evening in the middle of the usual city hustle and bustle. This park has lots and lots of things to offer from play parks for kids to dog parks for the furry friends to museums, zoos, aquariums etc for everyone. The park offers lots of amenities like ebikes. It has a nice lake in the middle. The trails are beautiful. The newest addition of mechanical dinosaurs in the zoo are a hit among the kids. Overall a good place to spend some time with family.

Playground: There are 4 playground areas. A lot of kids because they use this park for family gatherings. I would park off parkway entrance (which has a playground and pavilion but is mostly used for family gatherings) and then walk the trail with my daughter to the playground across the dog areas.

I LOVED THIS PLACE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER OMGGG!!! i dont live in memphis anymore, but when i did i went here SO OFTEN. my fav place was the secret "forest" area behind the rock play area, i had so many fun memories there. most of my school friends lived in midtown at the time, so i'd occasionally see them here, and it was awesome. also the sand pit was nice when there was sand in it ? to any parents in memphis, TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!! its fun for all ages. sad i didnt get to see a lot of things in memphis before i moved to longmont, CO. 10/10, love this place, its awesome.
