The guys were very nice and timely,however I had to ask them about the box damage and not the merchandise according to Barbara since the box/package had not been opened Iwondered how this was noticed, per Barbara at North American Van Lines, The driver stated oh I'm glad you mentioned that and advised me to contact the Store where purchased then Barbara if I saw damage on the dresser they delivered after opening, they didn't mention anything about what the big orange sticker said in reference to do not sign and date for delivery until inspection of merchandise because I could only see it if I was coming into my garage, which at the time of delivery i was in the door way of my home. So I leave out to pull my car back into the driveway, I see the sticker after signing and dating ,I asked about it and the driver politely said just call the store then Barbara if damage, I've got to go because I have other deliveries. I opened box and thereis much damage. I contacted the stores customer service and explained what happened and she assured me they would work with me? Per Barb.(at store where purchased)

I paid for delivery and assembly of an elliptical machine. Delivers appeared to not even know what an elliptical machine was. I am not confident that my my machine was properly assembled it catches as I am peddling. Also they were in a hurry and did not place my machine in the exact position I wanted it. I had to get my brother to come over and help me move machine.

Please. Go with any other company. Tl;dr I waited 16 days for delivery from Chicago to NYC (700 miles). Because it was "still within the estimated window," I received no compensation for sleeping on the floor for over two weeks. Despite being cheaper, if I had known that it would take this long to deliver my items, I would have never booked with AVL.I deeply regret not reading the reviews and heeding the warnings. AVL assured me that the broad range of estimated delivery dates was meant to account for mechanical issues, weather, etc. When I asked if I should pay for premium guaranteed delivery, I was told there was no need, 700 miles would only take 7-10 days for delivery. But when the movers arrived and I asked for an estimated time, they told me the very last day of delivery. Over the course of the next two weeks, I continued to call and ask when my things would arrive. The estimated date of delivery was always the last day of the window. I truly believe that my belongings were never going to arrive before the last contracted day. Because of this, for 16 days I slept on the floor, ate frozen microwave meals, and washed and re-washed clothes in the two suitcases I brought. No - these delays were no were not due to weather, mechanical issues, or other non-human intervention. It was simply due to scheduling and likely (I am speculating) overbooking. If AVL had been transparent and told me that the delivery would be at the end of the window rather than reasonably within the window, I would have never booked with them. From my experience, AVL has no interest in getting you your belongings within a reasonable amount of time. When I spoke to a supervisor to express my discomfort and displeasure, the supervisor was harsh, rude, and uncaring. This supervisor would not stop repeating that it was within the contracted delivery window and couldn't understand (or empathize) with my complaints.AVL is not transparent. Do not take the risk of your belongings arriving far after you have already moved. Although AVL may cost a little less, the stress, discomfort, and unprofessionalism is not worth it.

The delivery guy dropped one of the legs on to the wood floor and it put a small dent in the floor. I paid for deluxe, therefore the legs should have been put on in the warehouse, not in my home.

I choose North American Van Lines for a move from Virginia and Pennsylvania. This is not my first long distance move. I've moved from East Coast to West Coast. In the past, I've used a broker and have had no issues. This time, I choose North American Van Lines because they own all of their own trucks and you know the crew from start to finish. They were more expensive than the brokers, but figured we'll "do this move right." MISTAKE. They care more about their next booking than they do the clients they've already booked. Someone from North American Van Lines came out to my condo, gave me an estimate and talked me through their process and the quote. It was all fairly standard from previous moves I've done. I liked that they came out in person. Not necessary, but it was nice. I felt comfortable with them and the BBB ratings etc. I was made to feel that for the extra money, about an extra 1K, that we would be taken care of better than a broker. So we selected them. I tried to ignore the yelp reviews since everyone is different. NOPE LISTEN TO THE YELP REVIEWS!!!!!We were given to Northshore Movers who are part of North American Van Lines. They were terrible. Long story short. Our move coordinator went MIA for over 5 hours the day of the move. I had harsh words for her about. Her excuse was she was "on the phone." I told her that her job is to ensure my move goes smoothly and she didn't do that. She was aghast that I accused her of not being available for my move and then "apologized." The crew was rough with our items. We have several damaged items. They were late to pick up without communication. They would disregard fragile signs and put heavy items on top of fragile boxes. They would also stage larger boxes on top of smaller boxes. They were polite, but didn't do most of the things they were asked to do. You're better off with a broker. Good luck

Very Pathetic Moving companies!Recently used North American Van Lines and Dewitt for a move from FL to HI.Horrible experience, inspite of a rock solid quote, we were overcharged by more than $1400 at destination without any explanation. They essentially stopped delivery in the middle till we paid more or they wouldn't deliver the rest of the things.No one from either company calls you or returns your calls or emails to give an explanation......very dishonest practices and have no idea of what they are doing! Couldn't care less about the consumer after making a commitment...stay away from these companies!

Cord Moving-Memphis made our moving experience a very positive one. The packers and movers were on time for all appointments which included estimating, moving day and delivery day. Everyone was courteous, extremely helpful, and took great care with our items. Our relocation coordinator answered our many questions patiently. The job was completed with no surprise charges. Highly recommend this company.

The only concern I have is that they don’t wear shoe covers and mask upon request. We are seniors and Covid is still out there! And plus I don’t like people wearing outside shoes in my house because of the germs that be under shoes! Other than that, they were very professional!
