I was very impressed with the Memphis Union Mission. Very clean in the lobby and cafeteria. I was with a church group when I visited this nice establishment August 5, 2023. The men at this homeless shelter looked very well taken cared of. I hope to be invited back. I lead the opening prayer and a friend of mine song.

Safe, clean place to get your life together. This is the bottom can't get lower. Meant to lift up, if you apply yourself.

The Memphis Union Mission is actively doing Gods work through blessed saints, spirit filled pastors, and compassionate Christian soldiers on the front lines for spiritual wareware in downtown Memphis, taking in broken, homeless, drug and alcohol addicted men who are lost in a broken world in desperate need of a loving God. Thats exactly what they find when they come in and seek refuge, food, and clothing. I had been on the streets addicted to drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes for most my life. The Holy Spirit led me to the mission where I found Christ and the salvation of my soul through the Gospel that is preached there each and every night. The pastors of the mission and the program and the staff members genuinely care for the welfare of all Gods children without descrimination of your situation, stature, color, or creed. The mens "iron on iron" program helps men to grow spiritually, relationally, and in sobriety, as they learn from spirit filled teachers what the word of God teaches about every question you can think of in lifes journey. I am in turn compelled to do the same for men in light of this wonderful mercy that has been shown to me. Jesus said it best in Luke 10:37 "Go and do likewise", that says it all. These men are pouring thier lives into the men who come there seeking something better, and find something priceless, the salvation of thier souls through the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12Sincerely, Jody Pierce

Sickening treatment of a disabled, homeless man. After being kicked out of a homeless shelter and asking what I did wrong, I was only told I lied to certain people and still couldn't come back. Very Christian indeed. Thank God for the Americans with Disabilities act, civil rights in the United States of America, and true Christians interested in helping disabled and homeless people, and thank the Lord some of them are lawyers! I never thought I'd say that! I bet this review will be removed, that's fine, I'll keep posting and telling the truth! I'm curious by the be way, how can a homeless shelter be closed? Especially to the homeless? I'm sure people reading these reviews who aren't homeless might be curious about the same thing...

If it wasn't for the mandatory church I would give this place 4 stars. Seriously a good shelter. I plan on staying again.

The staff at this location are really good, God-fearing men who reach out to men at their lowest and strive to share Jesus' love. For the work that is needed, no one could do it better than the staff on hand. Volunteer, donate, reach out and get involved. The help is appreciated!

This place is the place of the Devil. A place to abuse their authority! Making Christianity into SLAVERY!!! A REAL Christian accepts all and love all!! Treating the homeless as peasants, the actions of Demons. The Devil will put you out for following your faith, you can’t chose your faith can’t have your rights. Who has Holy water for this location? Real Christians respects everyone and understands all shall love all!! Jesus was Jewish and the Jews were spoken with Christianity and neighbors to the Muslims. Jesus told his people love thy enemy & help those in need! This place is begging for a lawsuit!!!

I needed help and they would have helped but I had two elderly dogs. They are 16 and 20, and we're in the same boat I was in. But you do good work for others and that's respectable. Allow pets. Seriously even grumpy people smile and give food to them and pet them. It's therapy and God knows Memphis people need a chill pill.

This a place that was very kind to me when I was there a few years ago the staff there was very humble and kind I recommend this shelter they also have this program for people that are struggling with addiction that was the first place I went when I was released from jail they accepted me and as time went by they became like family to me so if anyone is looking for shelter and a safe place to stay go to the Memphis Union Mission

This place saved me and changed my entire outlook on life. I'm truly thankful the Mission exists in spite of their indoctrination. It inspires hope in the kindness and goodness of people. Never underestimate the power of the human spirit.

I donate to the mission regularly. I forego other places that profit from donations disproportionately and nearly exclusively take donations to MUM.

The air conditioning doesn't work the plumbing doesn't work the homeless are given limited access to drinking water and are confined in the facility from 2pm till 8am the following morning in a confined space. I got very sick on the chicken donated by Gus's
