The best place for dog training. Lisa was my obedience teacher and she has so much knowledge. This isn't a petco dog training class. The people who teach here have years and years of experience.

Best dog training anywhere. Last year we took in a 2 1/2-year-old shelter dog who had been on her own, probably the whole time, very independent and strong willed to survive. We hired a personal trainer (quite costly) to come to the home, and we Worked with her as he directed and Hera did not learn anything. Fast forward one year to a gentleman at the Dog Park who recommended Dog woods. For the low fee that was charged we figured what the heck let’s give it a try. They were wonderful. The trainer was very personal, small class size, and like I said, very economical. Hera is a brand new and transformed dog and a pleasure to have around.Thank you, Dog Woods,Lisa & Hera

We adopted Hera about 1 year ago from the local animal shelter. She had been within a few hours of being euthanize as she was considered a "high risk" dog. She is a pit mix who had most likely been on her own most of her life and needed to become fiercely independent to care for herself and her pups (don't know what became of them). The first time I tried walking Hera on a leash she literally dragged me down the street on my abdomen. We hired a private trainer to help us teach her basic commands and to walk on a leash. Lots of money later, training was over but Hera remained less than a well-behaved dog. Thankfully, we ran in to a stranger at the dog park who recommended Dogwood. OMG, what a life save!!! After just 6 weeks of classes Hera is well behaved, listens, has wonderful manners and best yet, I can easily walk her on a slack leash!!! They have attentive trainers, small class sizes and are VERY reasonably priced (to name just a few attribute). Thank you Dogwood!!!!!

I was very disappoInted in their puppy training group class. I only brought my puppy to one session because I could see this was not the program he needed. The female trainer spent @ 75% or more of the session helping one client! her dog was very frisky and needed the help but this was not the forum for INDIVIDUAL TRAINING! in a group class, attention should be shared among all clients since we all paid the same fee for attendance in the class. others in the class shared my frustration. this class was a huge waste of my $180. Lesson learned!

I just finished the beginning obedience with my 7 month old puppy and will be returning for the next level of training. I appreciate Donna and her kind, knowledgable and flexible approach to training. The classes were fun and easy to incorporate at home. I can't recommend Dog Woods enough.

I just completed basic obedience class with Donna and honestly cannot say enough great things about the class and Donna. The class provides the groundwork for a well behaved dog. You just need to continue practicing at home. What I truly appreciate about Donna is that she has years of experience and doesn't have a "one size fits all" approach but rather helps you to find the best approach to work with your dog. I will definitely return for more classes.

Almost finished the beginner class with our 5.5 month lab pup & can really tell the improvement. Micheal is a good teacher & seems that he wants you to be successful with training & working with your dog - to make your experience with your dog a good one. He offers individual guidance and he even offered an extra class to address specific issues. He expects students (both person & dog) to do the “homework” of daily exercises. We will continue to attend more classes with Dog Woods to work on our Hazelnut.

The teacher would come late to class, only taught 1-2 things each week and literally didn't even show up at all the very last week of the class (graduation week). All of us stood outside the building in the dark with our dogs waiting for the trainer to come to class and he never came, so we all went home and have never heard another word from the company! Despite multiple emails to complain about the service we've received, the company hasn't even had the decency to respond, let alone apologize. Terrible!

We paid for a beginner's obedience class for our very rambunctious 10 month old puppy. Our trainer was the son (?) of the owner, and there were multiple times that me or my husband showed up for a scheduled class that was apparently cancelled via a text that we never received. He took down both of our cell phone numbers THREE times with apologies and promises of an extra class. We finally gave up after three weeks in a row of the same thing, and we will be calling to get our money back. Also, there is a tent city in the woods next to this place, which is very unnerving when showing up to a night class that was never cancelled. I felt so unsafe here and I won't ever recommend Dogwoods to anyone.

Dogwoods Training I have been going here since I got my first dog in 1999-2000. Those ladies are the best and always will be. Now I’m taking one of my pups and our trainer is the son. He is just a personable as the owners. Just a great bunch. We are in beginners obedience. They have advanced and agility training too. They even have a one on one class and will keep your pet while they train them. My goal is the AKC good citizens award. Ha-Ha ...with my guys that’s a stretch. But Dogwoods is the ones to get us there. I will be updating this review on how well Shelby completes the beginner class.
