If I could give a zero I would, lack of compassion, and communication, very inconsiderate, overpriced for the job they did , but I love my baby

We had to take our senior dog in for a suspected uti. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We were in and out relatively quickly, and our pup is now feeling much better.

Our kitty was injured and we have never dealt with something like this before. However these workers here were so sweet and patient with us and took good care of our baby. If something ever happens again I will definitely go here first because of the amazing service from these great people!

Yesterday after taking my baby Fred,
to get his shots at his regular vet, he started having seizures. Knowing what I know now, it was too much at one time. His regular vet was closing after I took him back when he started seizures, so they referred me here. Arrived about 8 I think. Give or take….. by 3:17 am they called to tell me that he took a turn for the worse. I picked him up at 7:30am. Not good at all. I took him out of town to a vet today and he died about 2:30 pm. Outside Of the seizures being too much from over vax, this hospital gave him too much fluids too fast and fluids started building up in his chest. All of this was too much for his little 3.5 lb body and he died. Oh! Not to mention they did more damage than helping him, it was about $830 for them to put the nail in the coffin ?? I’m so heartbroken oh they were so kind to tell me that they didn’t charge me for the chest xray that I now know was something they caused! A sudden call at 3:30 was such a quick change from him recovering and resting well at 10pm!

If I could give zero stars, I would! They inflate their prices and misdiagnose on purpose to milk as much money as possible. After my cat’s surgery, the clinic I transported him to said the surgeries were unnecessary!

I've been using thr clinic for years. I'll never step foot in that place again. They have to be the rudest people I've ever come across. In the past you were able to go back with your pets. They don't allow that anymore, so you have to leave you sick or Injured pets alone. You have to speak with the staff in the lobby about your sick pets and your personal financial business. That is totally unacceptable.
I took my injured cat with tongue lacerations and the estimate was 1900.00. Being on disability that was something I could not afford. I asked for another quote and it actually went up. Those were the high quotes. I asked what each line item was and they seem irritated at my questions. I asked to speak to the doctor and he was especially rude. I told him to remove the necrotic area and he replied "without anesthesia " I responded are you crazy? I finally told them to give the cat some painkillers and I would take him home. I can take care of him better than they can. I fixed him some food and water and a bed in the bathroom and he's de-stressing and doing fine . He was starving and ate a lot. They gave him some painkillers which seem to have no effect and I took him AMA for 202.00. Although it's close to my house, I'll find another ER.
I know they're busy, but that does not excuse their rudeness. I wasn't so nice myself, but not being able to be with my baby and being presented with a 2k bill set me off.
I will never return.

Called before I went to see if I could bring my very sick Pomeranian. The lady that answered had no compassion told me it was parvo and hung up the phone. Didn’t wait to see if I had any thing else to say. I brought my Pomeranian here as quickly as possible mind you she’s having seizures in the lobby. There is a lady in the front of me in line talking and taking her sweet time. The receptionist clearly sees I’m in distress and my Pomeranian but she’s letting the lady talk instead of calling a doctor out to come help me. Finally I get to the window and she gives me a clip board to fill out and she tells me to sit. No type of empathy whatsoever. I had to tell her I can’t just sit down my Pomeranian is dying. She calls a dr from the back to come take my dog. As I’m sitting filling out the paper work a lady from the back comes to get me. She takes me to a room and tells me the price it would be to save my dog it was 2500-4000 mind you the price I was quoted on the phone before I went was $300. Then they tell me I can euthanize if I couldn’t pay that expensive prize. So I say ok put her down which was very emotional for me. Then they change their minds and say we can save her but you will have to sign over the dog to us. I know why now they wanted to save her. She was a teacup blue Pomeranian named Chinchilla worth 3,000. At the time I wasn’t thinking I was emotional I signed the papers so they could keep her. The lady told me she would update me if chinchilla would survive I haven’t gotten a update since. How did a parvo diagnosis go from $300 to 4,000. These people are liars and have no compassion they just want the money. If any of my 4 Pomeranians ever get sick they won’t get my business again.

I would never have found our pet without the diligence of the staff searching Facebook for posts about her.

0 stars. I brought my puppy in because he cut his leg while playing and probably needed a few stitches. They said on the “low end” it would cost $1,200, I decided to go elsewhere, but they still charged me $170!. I went to an emergency veterinarian downtown and they charged me $300 to be seen, stitched, and pain medications for my puppy.
Also the “employee” there was CLEARLY UNDER THE INFLUENCE of drugs.

We've been taking our pets (mostly exotic) to this clinic for over a decade. I've not experienced a rude tech or vet. And they don't try to upsell you... if you're dealing with a very sick small animal, they can offer to hospitalize, but they're realistic, which is appreciated.
Last night, we lost our last rat to pneumonia. It was heartbreaking, but made easier because they were empathetic, and even had a coffin box for him. They have an option to send your animal to be cremated (it's not a large fee at all), but we opt to take them ourselves.
Our little buddy needed oxygen, xrays, and of course a physical exam, and the price is lower than most exotic vets in the greater Memphis area.
Of note: they absolutely blast animals out of their minds so they can be gassed and euthanized without pain or distress. The paralytic given to several other pets in the past seems to make them aware they can't move, and it always breaks me. AEC treats them like hospice patients... like humans.
Compassion goes a long way in difficult times, and they've shown it time and time again.
Pictured is our dear Marbles.

My elderly kitty had stopped eating and going down fast. Took him to ER yesterday and was extremely pleased with the exerience. Dr. Hornsby was a true blessing to us and diagnosed his problem and treated accordingly. He's like a different cat today! Staff was caring and efficient, even under the extreme pressure of an overflowing waiting room of sick pets. Keep in mind that this is not a quiick process, depending on the number of other patients and that you are going to PAY more than the usual vet visit, but when every second counts, it is worth it to entrust them to the best! Thank you Dr. Hornsby and staff.
