Food City is a locally owned grocery retailer with a strong community focus, operating in Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee, North Georgia, and Alabama. Based in Abingdon, Virginia, the store has been dedicated to providing value for over 100 years. Customers appreciate the clean, well-organized interior and the helpful and polite staff. The store features conveniences like a pharmacy, fuel centers, curbside pickup, and home delivery. While some customers have noted issues with incorrect address listings on Google Maps, they find the store well-stocked, with a large wine selection and daily manager specials for meats. However, a few customers mentioned that the hot lunch area could improve service. Although prices may be higher than in some other states, shoppers feel they receive good quality and value for their money. Overall, Food City is recognized as a friendly and clean grocery shopping option, making it a recommended choice for locals and visitors alike.
Hot bar and salad bar plus the typical clean grocery store and fine folks making Food city a great alternative to replenish a wide assortment of provisions.

Great place to grocery shop when visiting our daughter and family down in Tennessee. Only thing is a couple of regular ladies in the Hot lunch area needs to not be customer help at taking food orders.
