17 year resident in Knox county, having an appointment in Maryville 7/12 and needing an exh system put on a vintage truck, I called around 4 muffler shops, finding this one. On a beautiful start to this day, I arrived early to find a garage bay door open and employee/owner (?) inside and respecting the chain across the front saying employee's only didn't stop my speaking out loud with a "good morning". Greeting in return was less than cordial.
Waiting until the door opened at 8 a.m. I went inside to get the same sorry attitude by the person but still said "good morning" again and "it's a beautiful day to be in TN". His attitude changed slightly.
Looking for a bargain and getting a vague response for what the cost would be, the man identified a price. My reply was if he would take $25 less. His reply? We're not Bargain Mart! I get it but doesn't hurt to ask for competition out there.
I went to my truck but returned asking if he could get me in right then as no one else was in line waiting. Answer was yes! I then asked to drive my own vehicle inside as (1) it's vintage and (2) that man had never touched the truck.
Of course I'm aware of insurance issues. Wasn't asking to linger inside but to just drive it inside for the brakes/clutch and familiarity.
The man copped a further attitude. I walked out, did a google search for other local muffler shops and one man recommended this same spot and a guy named "Frank". My reply was that the man I encountered had a real attitude. Mine was set off by taking time on a beautiful day to drive as a 1st time customer there only to be turned off by a sour attitude when not one other person had gotten there before me.
Instead I drove to Quick-O muffler in Knoxville where I have had 4 other exhaust systems installed over the past 17 years. No issue with my driving my vehicle on the lift -or- taking pictures of the underside as the owner and employee worked on my exhaust.
Fair priced and done within 2 hours of dropping it there I would NEVER "EVER" return to Broadway Muffler. Not with the attitude of some good old boy who can't offer a new customer a decent response!
Most, to include Broadway Muffler will mock Quick-O muffler across town and in Knoxville but it wasn't just the price offered by Quick-O but the opportunity to safe guard my vintage vehicle by respecting my driving it on the lift. Insurance aside, attitude is everything.
I didn't drive to Broadway Muffler & Hitch to be copped an attitude on a Beautiful Friday morning for it could have off-set my attitude the balance of the day. Didn't happen and so if there was less than 1 star that's what this business would get.

Go and see Frank. He will fix all your auto exhaust needs. He can quite it down or bump it up for you. Great shop. Great prices. And your vehicle will love you for it.

They got me in and out for a muffler and tail pipe replacement in less than an hour without a prior appointment. Price was reasonable and the owners were very friendly! Thank you for the great service!

Fantastic job welding my factory muffler back on after another shop did a bad job welding. Broadway muffler is able to do a near factory type of weld. Excellent job. Highly recommend!
