“How can you go wrong with a cafe with a full, separate vegan menu, especially when it’s inside a used bookstore? Oh, and did I mention the game and movie “dungeon” in the basement? What an awesome shop! So glad we decided to stop here on our way to the Knoxville airport (it’s conveniently only about ten minutes away). For starters, the person that helped take our order was super friendly and personable. Other guests in line welcomed us and told us we had found a good spot to eat. The sandwiches are named after famous literary figures. For example, we ordered the Ada Lovelace (a breakfast wrap with Just Egg) and the Mary Shelley (a chickpea salad sandwich). They were great! If we lived in the area, we would surely spend a lot of time at Southland. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in town or heading to/from the Knoxville airport.
