I LOVE Dr. Talley and all of the staff at Big Springs Veterinary Hospital. They are so loving and caring. They treat your fur baby just like they were their own. They explain everything and make certain that your pet receives the best care possible. Dr. Talley even called me several times to update me on my dog when she had surgery and had to stay overnight. They are the absolute BEST! I highly recommend them! In the age of chains and corporate vet locations, these are veterinarians who go above and beyond with love and care. If you live in the Maryville area, check them out! Dr. Talley and all the staff are wonderful! ❤️

All three veterinarians at this practice are very personable, compassionate, and caring. They have compassionately walked us through euthanizing an unstable adopted 72 pound bulldog that we dearly loved to raising a new rescue puppy from 6 weeks old. Everyone at the center has been great to work with. The facility is new and very well designed.

It was our 1st vet visit to this facility. Our doggies turned 10 this year, and we lost our boy in the middle of June. We wanted to get a full checkup of our girl Roxy to make sure she was OK. They were wonderful with her. Kept telling her she was such a pretty, good girl and gave her lots of pets. She loved them. The vet checked everything we were concerned about and did blood work as well. Got her up to date on the shots she needed. Big Springs will be our go-to place for pup care from now on. The facility itself is SO NICE as are the staff! Highly recommend.

Best veterinary experience of my life! I appreciate how professional all the doctors in this practice are. They always take the time and effort to explore the evidence and get to the bottom of any problem. I also appreciate that they never prescribe something that is not truly needed! They explain your medical options plainly and in laymen’s terms but without any hint of condescension!

Adella my rescue had severe itching, intense (understatement) shaking of her head, red (discharge) eyes, diarrhea.
This occurred non stop day and night. Biting/gnawing at base of her tail and paws.
12/01/23, treated for an ear infection and something about allergies and fleas. Every hour on the hour during the night this occurred. No relief. Undoubtedly very uncomfortable. My family hasn't slept a full night due to her condition for 4 months.
12/26/23 Treated for allergies/itch with Hydroxyzine. *****No change****
01/08/24: I was told possibly fleas! I know she didn't have fleas and she never will! I was told this by 2 separate doctors at this clinic. Perhaps this is their go to diagnosis?
Because of the serious biting at base of tail they decided to do an X-ray. Nothing out of the ordinary showed on X-ray.
03/25/24: Advised me of all the allergies in TN and that must be it & gave me name of eye drops for her eyes. This did nothing. Please note that from 12/01/23 -04/07/24,
NO relief. Please also note that during this span I called on a Saturday and was told "no available appointments."
I had to take her to a different veterinarian.
Fast forward to Sunday 04/07/24. It was unbearable to see her in such anguish & pain and I was desperate. Resorted to Google and there it was a yeast infection. I immediately tended to her by spraying 50/50 white vinegar with water. Google info was a perfect match of yeast infection.. EUREKA!!!! I sprayed her body, however I'm quite timid about washing ears as just a slight gentle touch she cries. I also added coconut oil (antifungal) to her food. Monday night (04/08) was the 1st. night she DIDN'T shake, scratch or cry; sleeping is a good thing! Because her ears are sensitive, I contacted Talley for Diflucan or any antifungal med to help with yeast as this would also stop growth in her ears. Diflucan is perfectly safe for dogs.
I was told I would have to bring her into their office. Needless to say I had enough. They are all about the $. Itching, oily skin, gnawing, moldy smell, shaking of head all came to a complete halt with the help of Google. Inner ears still very sensitive and painful to the touch.
Please also be advised that I believe there's a couple of previous issues (reviews) stating patients were turned down on Saturdays as well.
Because I'm too trusting I never requested invoices.
I requested and perused my invoices today and noticed every nail trim was at a different price?
$21.00, $23.00, $34.00. Contacted front desk only to be told "There's also another fee of $52.00." Still shaking my head on this one.
The 03/25/24 nail trim I immediately noticed that it looked like it wasn't even close to done!? My spouse stated this as I didn't mention, I waited for a response. BINGO, it was immediately noticed.
"If" they were clipped it was a totally unprofessional job. I just thought they forgot, but my invoice states otherwise.
Long story short Adella has to go another day with painful yeast infected ears as I refuse to bring her back there.
I'm from MA and have never been treated in this manner. Talley talks down in an arrogant manner with absolutely no empathy. $1,366.98 for telling me she could have fleas, treated for swimmer ear infections with no relief, wasting my time and tending to a very sick/suffering dog.
Her scratching and intense (understatement) non stop shaking her head; sometimes hitting wall may have damaged her hearing as I've been testing her and seems her left ear is short of hearing; possibly no hearing. UNACCEPTABLE.
Talley treated me in a condescending manner because I requested to have a Vet. Tech call me.
I figured Vet Tech would give info to Vet
It's also apparent that overall aura in clinic is quite dismal; from front desk to Vet. Tech. To Vets. Th

I highly recommend these amazing vets and this facility. The staff is friendly and the vets are kind, great to explain things to the pet owner, and realistic when it comes to bigger procedures. They do a great job respecting an owners love for their pet but don't take advantage of the situation.

The staff at Big Springs is wonderful! Dr. Crump is a very knowledgeable vet who goes the extra mile to make sure your pets are loved and taken care of. We always feel welcome by the office staff when we call and every time we visit. Communication is timely and helpful as well. We drive all the way from Knoxville to Maryville because we wouldn't go anywhere else!

In my years using Big Springs as my vet, I have only received the kindest, best care for all 4 of my animals. Dr. Talley, Dr. Walker, and Dr. Crump are all fantastic veterinarians and have helped my pups and cats through a several lifetimes' worth of ailments. The front desk is always kind and helpful, and the staff shows my pets so much love at every visit. I really appreciate the time that they spend to make sure I know all of my options and what the best care decisions will be for my pet in our particular circumstances. They started accepting Care Credit not long ago and that has been a big help, as well. My dogs are always excited to see everyone when we arrive! Can't recommend them enough.

The vet there killed my dog with vaccine for rabbies, (injection site carcoma.) Vets can give injection in the tail so that if it develops into cancer they can cut off the tail. My dog was compromised at the time ,and they insisted on giving it to her, when they could of waited or given it in the tail, they knew better. They can test for Rabbies antigens as well instead from previous injection and be able to wait if the animal is compromised. I cant express my disgust enough about what youve done she was only 3 years old, and it absolutely crushed me and still does every time i bear to think about it.

Simply the best!!! We have received care for surgeries, routine checkups/vaccinations, aging concerns, health issues, to name a few. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, direct and simple to comprehend. Not only are they helpful in the office but they take time to check on us if they see us at the market, kid activities, church or school events. Highly recommended to anyone who asks!
