This is a long one sorry, but... Kroger is about to get on my last nerve for real.
Today I went in and tried to return a few hygiene products that were irritating and breaking out my skin. I could tell the lady seemed apprehensive as soon as she could tell what I wanted to return. But out of some glimmer of hope she reluctantly proceeded to try to return my items. I stuck the card in I purchased the items with after waiting for her to see if I could have an option of cash or credit but she just said with no manners "you gunna stick your card in?"?... I said oh! Sure! Now mind you the card I used is a SNAP card and most people don't have cash on them, just food money... I had used my cash money on this card for these items, and she told me, your using a food card on regular items and I proceeded to explain; not sure if she was quite convinced, she definitely didnt seem to care one bit. I tried my card twice and it acted like it was working because it asked me cash or food and if the amount was correct. As soon as it did that it just ended, I could almost swear she wasn't doing something right on her side but she didn't seem to think oh this is a card I don't usually see, maybe there is a slightly different process to it. She didn't even seem like she wanted to even figure it out if she could, she had no feelings towards it other than to try to get me out of there ASAP. Mind you also I waited very patiently behind a man who took at least 10 minutes, probably longer with several cash transfers and what not. She didnt even have half that patience for me, no time of day. So I asked her couldn't I get regular cash back then, I have my ID and obvious proof that I was the one to purchase it. She said because it was over 20$, it was a 33$ refund, and because it'd been over a month, which when I got home I had a feeling I had to make sure and she was wrong, it had been almost a month!!! (Purchased June 9) But I don't know that it'd even matter to bring it up, because she just seemed like she would have some other reason up her sleeve as to why I can't get my return.
I have also had a very similar problem awhile back at the other Kroger on Dexter and Germantown, probably a bit worse because the manager ended up coming out and being really rude to me. BUT she did eventually give me back my small return even though she kept threatening me not to like in some sort of weird power struggle as I was just trying to voice my concerns and questions about the policy, it really got under her skin, and it wasn't her about her obviously.
And so tell me how come with target, costco and even sprouts they don't make this big of a deal, like I've never had issues like this with them, but both recent times I've tried to return things to Krogers they aren't helpful one bit, they just look at me like i am crazy!
And one more thing about the store atmosphere experience, please take that horrible intercom message about top of the hour conditioning. It is such a traumatic word in general because time and time again it had been used in environments to gain real control of people in dictatorships and mental institutions and even in 2020-22 when the world was going through extremely traumatic times of covid quarantine. It definitely feels and sounds like I'm in a concentration camp when I'm in there and ruins my whole shopping trip and even my day. I can't be the only one who has ptsd from the horrible repetitive message... I've even noticed in some other Krogers in east TN, they got rid of it.
Please have some real genuine consideration for your customers Kroger!

Went in tonight , loyal Kroger customer,
Was in self checkout line, lady who works there named Brittany kept coming over saying my items wasn’t scanning but indeed they did…
She came over again for the second time trying to say same thing and indeed she was wrong again, the gentleman who helped me bag my items said he’s sorry she’s just in a bad mood…
Bad customer service experience hopefully next time she’s in a better mood,.
Not a way to treat someone for literally no reason…

THEY never ever have handicap carts charged up n ready to use! It is almost like u r in the twilight zone. All I hear is that" ma'am those carts r not working." Never plugged up for those people like me have health issues. All these young people employed there and it's no one's job to plug up or dry them off from the rain! Very sad from the CEO's and to the upper management. They are the ones I hold responsible. I work in lakeland and I will start shopping at the new super Kroger. One where it will have them n they will be working, for sure. This is the new normal for Hwy 64 to not have handicap carts up n running, but high prices to pay. SAD!!!

The reason for this poor score has to do with a very negative person working in the seafood department. I don’t live here thank goodness but I’ve been there about 10 times. He brings down the Kroger name 20 times.
Cashiers and stockers are awesome.

At the end of the day it's still a Kroger, but the people are nice and the shelves are stocked well so it's a good Kroger.

Besides the prices being so much higher than other stores, this Kroger's in this location was the only store where I could find rice lasagna noodles.

If you're buying all you're groceries here then you're stupid or rich. A ton of their stuff is marked up 100% more than you'd pay at other stores.

Usually well-stocked. Pay attention to busy times, though! It would be nice if the employees wouldn't reek of marijuana when they come out of their cars, though.
