I just bought a bass boat, so I had to check out West Marine, and it's dangerous because I wanted everything in there. They had most of what I needed to refurbish this boat. The prices are a smidgen higher than online, but if I have to pay a little more and I can just get my item there instead of waiting for shipping, I'll do that. The gentleman working there was super helpful and friendly, periodically checking in as I looked to see if I needed help. All in all, it was an excellent experience. I'll be back for more boat stuff for sure.

I needed two lengths of soft rope for a looped strap to do some physical therapy exercises. I bought a 15 foot tie up rope that already had a loop in it and the young man, when I told him what it was for offered to cut it and burn the cut ends to prevent it from unraveling. Such a nice young man!

I ordered manifolds for a 4.3 v6 and when I received parts they were for a v8 .I let them know they could care less that I received wrong parts so I drove them from my home back 7 hours away to hurry up getting returned so I could get correct parts I originally ordered they said I could not order in store since I placed order online. I paid 700 for these still have no parts and as of now still do not have money refunded !! Its pathetic very rude when you call and super poor staff at least the west marine in Knoxville tn . Very unsatisfied and definitely will not recommend to anyone I know . A company this big in so many locations and will not help a simple Working Man Out. It seems you are bothering them when you call..

I just had a really poor experience at this establishment. The middle-aged lady that helped me seemed like she didn’t want to do her job. When I walked in, she looked at me and may have muttered something. I was interested in getting a boat cover so I went to the aisle labeled boat cover, which was aisle five. There were no boat covers so I turned and asked the woman “where are the boat covers?”. She gave me a look and said “right there on aisle four”. As I thought she just thought I was stupid. I replied “it just says they’re on aisle five“. She made no reply. I walked to the back and found the boat covers. When I asked her to help me fit a boat cover with the boat that I own she replied to me that there were no catalogs for boats, and that I would just need to go with the measurements. That’s fine. I can go with the measurements. But then why would I go to West Marine to buy it if I could just buy it on the Internet? I expect a marine dealership to be able to tell me what the appropriate parts or boat cover is for my boat. That may require looking it up on the Internet with me. If it’s too much responsibility to take care of a customer first in the morning then maybe she should be looking for another job. When I acted frustrated, she replied that she had answered all my questions. Mind you she was no help. On the way out the door we exchanged some comments of which she told me she hoped my day got better. I then explained to her that I just gotten my radiation oncology treatment and I had a boat that was out in the rain and needed a cover. My day got better as soon as I left. I’m kind of guy that won’t go back. I guess I’ll wait for Amazon to deliver one and use a tarp in the meantime.

This would be the reason you don't want to buy a boat. You don't want to go fishing? They are so expensive. I was looking for a through plug for a hall of a boat and a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker was $74. There 300 yd down the street at the auto store. They had the same circuit breaker for $8.90. I had bought this through plug at other Marina's. For less than $4 and they wanted $28 for it. What's going on here? I guess I was used to living on the golf coast where you had a lot of boats but what they're doing here, they're trying to make all their money off one customer. I will never go there again

Customer service was awkward. The girl working seemed like she wasn't interested in helping me find a part for my boat and seemed a little rude.
