I’ll preface this review with the only positive I have. Matt was the only lawyer who gave me his time over the phone on a Sunday morning. However, I wish DT Christmas, one of Matt’s lawyers, would’ve negotiated better with the DA, and provided much better communication with me and my wife.My friend was pulled over for not having her lights on. The young police officer requested a breathalyzer. She refused. They did not have a BAC, sobriety check, or blood test. She served 24 hours of jail, went to court for a year, and served over 100 hours of community service. Sounds like a simple case, and we felt it was. However, the final verdict was a DUI conviction, 1 year probation, an intoxalock ignition system on her vehicle, and losing her nursing job.We weren’t happy with the result, and the incompetence continued. The law firm couldn’t fill out a simple form three separate times to give to the DMV. The paperwork they filled out was illegible. We made three separate visits to the DMV.The lawyers claim they have provided better service to others accused of DUI, but my friend and I did not experience good service, communication, or good results. Their excuse for the poor communication and poor performance was the letter her last name began with. I you decide to use Ooten Law, I hope you have a better experience than we did.

With out getting into details of my case. I feel like I was represented the best way I could have by Mr. Ooten and his team. They took their time looking at all my evidence and I got the best outcome I possibly get. All in all my career may have been slowed down but my out come through their office didn't ruin my career. That was the most important thing when hiring them. They did what they said while remaining optimistic though out my whole process.

Horrible communication from the start. The attorney rescheduled my court date multiple times with out telling me (I had to find out by showing up to court and being told the attorney moved the date, again, no one told me of the last minute change - and that happened MULTIPLE TIMES!). I run 2 small businesses. I don’t have time to go down to the court house this much for something that could have been solved in 2 visits, back in 2022, if they had done their job. They lost my paperwork and that took another 3 visits before they found it and submitted it to the judge correctly. One time my attorney even pawned me off for the morning on some other attorney who didn’t even work for the same firm! The most unprofessional and condescending man I have ever met. If you want to spend $5k and OVER A YEAR in court over driving charges - this is your firm. If you want to be treated poorly, condescended to, and lied to - this is your firm. But if you just want a good lawyer who does their job and communicates with you - you are strait out of luck at The Ooten Firm.

Usually when we need legal counsel it's a low point in our life and I really appreciate Dom being there for me during this time. He and his staff were very unassuming and nonjudgmental. I can't lift Dom and I believe her name was Valerie (Dom's Paralegal) up enough and would without hesitation call upon them again if needed.
