It seems like this was an event venue. Place was nice, but the food wasn't good. I wasn't sure that was catered or not.

Little spot and happy hollow area. Nice big bar. We went there for a wedding and they did a really nice job with the food and set up.

I attended the wedding reception of my nephew and his beautiful bride and it was fun. There's a bar on the left side of the space and a band was set-up on a raised stage on the right. The ceiling is quite high with a large number of lights stretching in rows between the exposed ceiling joists, plus chandeliers hanging throughout the large open area into which you step from the street. In addition, there is a projector in the ceiling which is aimed at a screen on the wall above and behind the band.
There were a few large round tables placed in the first third of the space and the rest open to dancing and mingling.
Also, hors d'oeuvres were offered by roaming servers throughout the evening and they were quite tasty.
It's a fantastic venue and was a perfectly grand evening!

I rented the venue in Spring 2024 for a wedding and here are my thoughts:
Pros:
We loved the venue itself and the event space is beautiful. For example, we loved the lights on the ceiling and the rustic atmosphere. And, the staff were very accommodating for photos.
Cons:
We felt like we were imposing with every question, which made planning very uncomfortable. We consistently left meetings or calls having to remind ourselves that we should be happy as we are getting married because our interactions with the venue always seemed to put a damper on the fun and happiness surrounding our wedding.
We had problems with price transparency. What we were quoted at was inconsistent with the final contract. After signing the contract, they continuously offered “extras” as coming with the use of the venue, but then added pricing close to the event.
During the planning process, they consistently bad-mouthed prior clients. Every question came with a story about a “nightmare client.”
The coordinators had a lack of attention to detail. We had to keep correcting or reminding them of details. For example, we were very clear from day 1 that we were not having the ceremony at the event space, but were consistently asked for designs to set up the ceremony. We also submitted all required documents for an outside caterer and up to 1 month before the wedding we were asked about getting the menu to their catering company.
They were consistently late to appointments and it was very hard to get in touch with any of the coordinators. And, it was often difficult to get a clear answer on details. For example, I had to wait until 5 days before the wedding to know the price of alcohol or even what alcohol they were planning on having available.
We thought it was unprofessional that the coordinators also made a surprise day-of appearance as our bartenders. During the planning prior to the event, we were never made aware that the wedding coordinators would be our bartenders and it was represented that they hired third party bartenders, which we had to pay for.
We received many comments from our guests about their rude and negative attitude as bartenders, and guests also questioned their licensure as bartenders.
The only thing I was stressed about on my wedding day was the venue. I would say to anyone thinking about holding a large event with planning, you must have an above and beyond coordinator who is comfortable with handling both her job and all that is required of the venue coordinator. I would get every promise in writing and make sure to follow up, or else it won’t be done.
All in all, the venue would be awesome with skilled coordinators, however after my recent experience it is clear that big events are beyond their current capacity and skill.

I had my wedding here in June and absolutely loved the space. It was beautiful and had everything I needed for a really great price. My one complaint and reason for the 2 stars is the manager that was there during the rehearsal and day of to run things. She was extremely rude and unhelpful to me and my bridesmaids when I had questions or was asking for the placement of chairs and things. Afterwards, however, I hear that she was giving free shots to the groomsmen while they were getting ready and flirting with some of them. A few specific moments that come to mind include while everything was being set up and I noticed that the cocktail tables in the alley hadn’t been set up yet. I came downstairs to make sure they were still planning to set them out and she told me that she is “only one person” and will get them out there soon. Another instance was when we were preparing to do the exit pictures where I had paid for their sparkler packages and my bridesmaid asked her if we could get the sparklers out. When we asked she didn’t just go get them, but argued that they normally don’t get them out until it’s dark and it’s not dark yet. We had only paid for our photographer for a certain amount of time which is why we were doing them at that moment and after we explained all of that she pretty much rolled her eyes and went to get them. There were numerous encounters like this where we asked for something to be done and she gave me excuses why it shouldn’t be done that way or they don’t normally do it that way and provided her opinion in a condescending and rude way. Lastly, when we were cleaning up we thought we had everything out of the venue but I wanted to take one last look through everything to make sure. It was around 10:30 at this time and we had access to the venue until 11:00 per our contract. I came back to the door after getting everything in my car to find that she had locked the doors behind us and I wasn’t able to get back into the building. The manager also ended up being the bartender for the evening which I found weird and unprofessional considering I was expecting a dedicated bartender since I paid a fee for a bartender and heard from multiple families that she was not attentive and they had to wait a long time for their drinks. When I decided on the venue initially, there was another manager there so I had not gotten a chance to have any interactions with her before choosing the venue and I wish I had. The change in manager also changed some of the getting ready rules beforehand, as I had initially been told we could bring in our own alcohol for getting ready as long as it was up when the wedding started. It was only during the meeting a month before the wedding that I was informed that this was no longer an option because of the new management, which was another uninformed change that I wasn’t expecting. Katie, the venue coordinator and the person I initially met when I toured, was amazing however. I wish she was there on the wedding day and rehearsal day instead of the manager.

We attended the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy on Saturday. The locally-owned space is extremely versatile. We have attended music festivals, birthday parties, beer festivals, and weddings at Relix so we wondered if they could pull off the Speakeasy. Felicia and her team executed the theme superbly! We enjoyed the event and highly recommend the space for ANY event. They will make your dream a reality ?

The venue was set up to match the atmosphere. The drinks were awesome. The cast presented with flare, feeling, and comedy. Great experience.

We went to the Poe experience. First of all the drinks were PHENOMENAL! And they have the recipes on their website if you want to recreate them (or check for allergies before going). The actors were also fantastic and super friendly. The whole vibe perfectly matched Poe! It was a wonderful experience!

My daughter was married on November 30th. Relix did a great job of hosting the wedding. The food was great. They had a cocktail hour to flip from ceremony to dinner and had a nice area with outdoor heaters. Everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend anyone to use them for their next upcoming events.

This was my first trip to this venue for a work event that had roughly 80-100 people inside. The venue itself looked awesome inside - would definitely be a great event space for formal or fun events. The outside area also allows the crowd to separate from each other in case you need a quiet space to take a call or have your drink and snack outside. There was parking in the back and most seemed to find spaces around it to be there. Definitely telling others about it since i've been there - excited to come back soon.
