Do not sign up unless you never want to leave this gym. You are locked in for 3 years, cancellation requires the sacrifice of your left arm and a thousand virgins. Obvious exaggeration, but seriously, you can only cancel if you physically move away from the gym, and then you pay an additional fee, provide proof of new residence, and send it all via certified mail. Oh yeah, once the contract is complete and you think you're out of it, you're wrong. Their contracts apparently auto renew, even if you request to get out at the completion of the contract before it expires. I guess that's one way to keep membership numbers up.

Would have given it 0 if possible but they don’t let you and if you come with your own 21 year old sister they don’t let you and they kick you out even if your a member for 3 years and that was never mentioned before.

This place absolutely will not work with you at all if you need financial help. Had some unexpected expenses come up and needed to freeze my account for 2 or 3 months. They offered to freeze it but said I still had to pay. What's the point of freezing then?! Signed me and my wife to a 3 year contract. Come to learn, they had an 18 month option that was not disclosed to us. We both transferred jobs that are now 45 minutes away and are stuck with them for one more year. No way to cancel. Most gyms offer you a cancellation fee to be able to cancel. Not them. They will not work with you at all financially. And for the monthly price plus bi-annual maintenance fees, It's absurd how dirty the gym is, how many pieces of equipment are broken, how long they stay broken, how many times and length of times the sauna, steam room and hot tubs are not working. Nobody seems to know how to make anything at the Juice Bar. They are definitely ALL about Sales and money. ZERO customer service. I am so very disappointed. We will not be renewing our contract when it comes time. There's a reason they have a 3.6 Google rating and getting worse. Do not sign up here.

DON'T SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP! They will never let you out of it. I started taking my autistic daughter there, because her therapist recommended she spend time in a pool. Right after I signed the contract, I was told the pool heater was broken. It was freezing for 4 months. Now my autistic daughter won't get in it, even though it's a little warmer now. She's terrified of it. I tried to cancel my membership and was told it was for 3 years. They made false promises and I couldn't read the contract, because I was trying to keep my daughter from hurting herself. That's false inducement of a contract and now I'm getting legal help. Most people don't hire a lawyer, because it costs more than the membership. My daughter can get a free lawyer. It's being paid for by an autism grant and she can't afford to go somewhere else, where she can do the therapy she needs, because we're stuck in this contract. We've tried everything to get out of it. These are just bad, two faced people. They're taking advantage of a 6 year old, disabled kid.

Beautiful facility but way too pricy and you HAVE TO sign a 3 year contract. What the heck!

I have been a member for 13 years. I pay almost 90.00 a month and on the months I pay maintenance fees it's about 178.00 a month. The signature club has no air conditioning on one side of the main fitness class room. After numerous complaints they eventually got Two fans for the room. The fans have now been removed because they felt they were needed more elsewhere. I feel with what I pay to be a member there they shouldn't be so poor they have to share those fans instead of buying more because they absolutely cannot afford to fix the air conditioning. The air conditioning has been torn up on the one side of the room for four years now. Just sad!!!!!

We joined NFC in Dec 2021, within two weeks I decided to pay for and use their Personal Trainer resources. The PT director at the time was Erin P, a superb lady. Over the course of 12 months I went through 7 different trainers. Once a working relationship was established that trainer would leave. Honestly, I don't blame them, they were paid very very low for their services. After my first year I took it upon myself to Train myself, I knew what worked best for me (50+ male). So over the course of the next year I didn't use my training sessions, and due to my contract I was stuck paying ($200/month). Over the course of that year I banked around 60+ PT sessions. At the end of Nov 2023 I went into one of the assistant managers office and requested to cancel my Personal Training contract. I did ask about using Personal Training from time to time since I accumulated 60+ Sessions. I was informed that I only had 30 days to utilize all my PT sessions. I was advised it's NFC's policy and if I had a problem I could address it with their Corporate Office. No-one in the NFC was interested in helping me. That said, it became very clear to me that I was nothing to them but another number, or in this case, a resource for $,$$$. NFC does not see me as a valued member that on numerous occasions wrote very detailed and specific reviews, mentioning the Leadership on their professionalism. Now I can see that NFC doesn't value me. All NFC wasn't from me and their members is for said members to sign on the bottom line and pay for Trainers, Stretching Sessions, etc. Additionally, over the course of my first year I would frequently utilize their Lap Pool, however for weeks and weeks at a time the pool would be down because the temperatures would be below 65 degrees. The Hot Tub was frequently very cold too. Treadmills, Stair Masters, different weight training pieces of equipment were broke or down (for parts) for months, several months at a time. Despite taking "Maintenance Fees" twice a year to cover these specific needs. I walked in the "Signature" site and equipment that I mentioned above is still not working. I am very disappointed with the way NFC operates. I see it as a TOP down breakdown. NFC cares about making money only. I give my highest possible recommendation to anyone considering becoming a member of NFC to reconsider, look somewhere else. All NFC wants from you is to sign up for their additional resources and take your money and run. I strongly suggest NOT joining NFC. W. B. Edgeman U.S. Navy Retired

Very poorly run, operations manager spends a tremendous amount of time walking around but doesn't seem to have a very good plan to repair this site. Now that In-Shape Fitness is at the helm, we hope changes are on the horizon.

I have tried to schedule the Styku body scan multiple times, over 5 times. I have a very busy work schedule and it’s difficult to align with the PT people’s schedule. Needless to say my dad and I Finally got an appointment with Gavin. He called my mother (neither me or my father) and said he needed to “leave for personal reasons” and rescheduled us for the following day at 12. Ok great so we get here the following day and the front desk personnel says that “Gavin left; he shot you an e-mail that the machine is down”. First of all I never got an email. Second, when you communicate with someone the day of an appointment you do not “email” them. And 3rd the machine was not down!! So I waited to speak to the manager who was apparently “busy”. This gym is a joke. Do not waste your money. This is why they have 3.6 stars. Go somewhere else. You should try Club 4. They have a new location in cedar bluff and one off western avenue. They’re amazing and attentive

The West Knoxville NFC is the best health club I have ever belonged to, and I've been working out in gyms for over 50 years in five states. The facilities are clean, the equipment is in good working order, there is an astonishing variety of equipment available, and the staff uniformly friendly and helpful. And the cost is extremely reasonable--I pay less than I had been paying for a previous gym with far fewer amenities. I'll be a member here for the foreseeable future!

Nice gym but don’t go there if you want to use the pools. The kids pool is frequently broken, so after loading up all your kids and their gear and towels and and… 1/2 times the heat pump is broken. Also, the lap pool is frequently contracted out to swim teams that take up prime times (like 4-6pm) during the week. Also, the lap pool is just gross and poorly maintained… I’m usually having to swim around globes of hair ?

One of the reasons we chose National Fitness Center was the child care option. It makes it possible for us to workout while giving our child a safe place to be. So why then would the service be arbitrarily removed during the holidays? This is frustrating and disappointing. I'm glad we are at the end of our contract because at this point it seems like National Fitness Center does a lot of bait and switch tactics, all while try to get us to spend more money. Not impressed. Would not recommend. The only reason I give 2 stars is because the facilities that are not falling apart are pretty decent.

Tried signing up for a membership and they wanted a ridiculous price for and very long term contract. I didn't sign anything. Stay far away from this gym, I even took a tour of their gym and another of machines were broken or ragged. Sad to say, planet fitness is better pricing, better machines and better contracts. STAY AWAY.

Love the signature club! The movie cardio room and the jacuzzi make the workout effortless and keeps us going!
