We always want “the best” for those we love so make no mistake. “The best” training facility and “the absolutely best trainer” is at Meadowbrooke Kennels. Susie Stout and Tara know dogs and take the time to evaluate their individual personalities. They also take the time to know you and help you form a strong and loving relationship with your best friend. So look no further. “The Best “ is right on Holston River Road at Meadowbrook Kennels.

The same people that run this place ran the K9 Center of East TN, which got shut down for dog abuse. We sent our dog to them when he was 6 months old and we were told he would be trained using positive reinforcement (treats & praise). When we went to meet with Susie Stout at the end of our dogs training, we found out she had been using a prong collar on him. During her demonstration, she pulled so hard on the collar that he yelped. We did not agree to a prong collar being used on our dog and we were upset by the situation. He is an anxious dog to this day and I don’t know how much of that is related to his early experiences at the K9 Center. I wouldn’t recommend sending your dog to any facility run by this group.

Susie Stout has such patience and encouragement as she was training our Camille and Frannie! This was the first time our fur babies ever boarded too. They learned so very much! Susie sent us texts and videos of their progress. Susie took time to show us in person how to follow up at home with this training. We also had our fur babies groomed at Meadowbrook! They looked so chipper, crisp, and happy when we picked them up! We would give more than 5 stars if possible!

Met the woman who manages daily operations and she was delightful and patient answering all my questions even before I have brought my dog to them. Private clean green grass for the big dogs too

Paddy likes that he can go in and out of his space, and he can move around. Not all places allow dogs to sleep unkenneled. He's always happy when I pick him up. Plenty of room for parking and he likes getting to play with his kennel friends from time to time. I try to look at it more like an adventure rather than missing him too much when we're separated. I already miss him and we haven't even left for our trip yet

I have a high energy, barky, wild Airedale Terrier. He's a handful, lol. I've been taking him here for obedience training and now Agility training. We also utilized their two week intensive training program. It's good, he came back with a good start to basic good behavior. Just keep in mind, you have to continue the work. They give an in depth review at the end and show you how to keep working with the training they started. You have to keep practicing these skills. They did an excellent job getting us started and the one year support afterwards is fantastic.

Sending our dog to Meadowbrooke was the best choice we have ever made. We sent our active and energetic puppy to them for a training stay expecting to see little results. Our dog was a rebellious handful in every way and we were at our wits end. Now, we still have an energetic dog, but one that listens, walks well on a leash, comes when she is called, and knows many useful commands. The lesson from the trainer we received when we picked her up was full of valuable information that has helped us become effective teachers and leaders for our puppy. I’m honestly amazed and ecstatic at how things turned out. I can not recommend this training center enough.

We signed our 3 year-old Australian Shepherd, Banjo, up for Meadowbrooke’s 2-week board and train program and couldn’t be happier with the results! Before completing the program Banjo would not listen to commands due to being nervous or too excited. Now he can obey commands after hearing them only once! Susie and the rest of the team have helped us tremendously and we will definitely be back in the future for other courses that are offered like agility training. Thank you Meadowbrooke!

My Springer Spaniel came home from his two-week training with Susie S a changed puppy! He still has boundless energy and MENSA-smarts, but is so much more responsive and engaged as I work with him and channel his energy into something he and I can BOTH enjoy. I get so much satisfaction AND relief when he loose-leash walks next to me, sits or waits on command, listens and responds when I ask him to down/stay or come, all with a single request. It takes practice, but I quietly thank Susie just about every day for helping us get to a place where time with the dog is a joy!

This was my first time bringing my dog to Meadowbrooke. They were extremely nice and helpful and took great care of Cocoa while I was out of town. She came back home so exhausted which was great because I’m sure she had so much fun being around other dogs, which she usually isn’t since it’s just her at home.Jessica was amazing and answered all the questions I had when I came in. She was also so helpful when I had to send in vaccination records beforehand. Their service was excellent and I will absolutely be going back to them for boarding and training in the future.

I don’t trust anyone else with my four legged child! Jinx is my first dog I’ve ever needed help with training. She was loud, bossy, and spiteful. (Hound probs) a customer at my job recommended Meadowbrooke, after I was quoted over $4500 from another company. I was defeated with a 5 month old Catahoula that was destroying my house and my patience. Suzie has been an angel from the start. She has gone above and beyond from the start of our journey. She made me feel comfortable leaving my J for her board and train program, and the multiple times she has stayed for boarding. With Suzie, Jinx has done a full 180. She walks amazing on leash, listens to commands (sit, down, stay, place and heel), and is finally accepting the crate. I used to even have to leash this dog during dinner, no more. They take care of my baby like she’s their own, and never make you feel bad for checking in. Thank you Meadowbrooke!!!

Meadowbrooke Kennels is a excellent place to get your dog trained. The trainers are very knowledgeable of dogs and kind. I have used them for years. I have also used them for boarding and I would not use any other place.

We sent our 8 month old Pyredoodle to stay and train here while we were on vacation. I cannot say enough good things about MBK!!! From the moment we filled out the boarding application they were so easy to work with. I met with the trainer, Susie, before we left Norah and right away I could just see she has a way with animals. She was so kind and took the time to send us updates and videos of her training progress. We had a 90 minute session with Susie when we picked her up and her progress is unreal!! We are hoping we will be able to keep her attention the way Susie can. My husband and I highly recommend this place. They are professional, friendly, honest, and very well priced. We will be bringing her back to MBK.
