Incredible leadership and communication from the director. Loving, knowledgeable teachers who take great care of the kids in their classroom. LOA quickly became like home to us. We love them dearly!

Amazing experience at Little Oaks. Professional staff, regular updates, willing to accommodate your specific needs. We always felt safe and comfortable dropping our kid off there everyday.

I worked at Little Oaks for six months after working in preschool for five years. I made a career change but this was by far the best school I worked at. I was not there for the previous administration but the current admins are amazing! My class had challenges and they went above and beyond to create a safe, fun learning environment.

I have 2 children that are currently attending Little Oaks Academy. The organization is under new leadership and I couldn't recommend it enough. The teachers love our children and treat them like their own and the administrators love our children. Childcare is HARD. And the teachers and staff of LOA do their best to love on our kids each and every day. While LOA is not perfect, you would be hard pressed to find a perfect childcare facility. The fact that Little Oaks is a nonprofit with a staff of teachers and administrators working alongside a Board of Directors of volunteer parents is what really makes the place special. It takes a village and Little Oaks is a shining example of that.

These people provided me with the worst experience I have had at any point since my child was born. It was an impressively bad experience. Our first day, with out 6month old, no one was there to greet us or tell us where to go. When we got into the room there was one teacher and our child made six infants. More than the legal ratio of children to caretakers. Most of the lights in the building were off. They dropped my wife’s milk in the garbage…twice. In front of us. “His” crib was filthy. There were actual twigs in it. The sheets were stained and dirty. The young lady in the room had no idea we were coming. No one washed their hands, and there was a container of bleach open on the floor. We left immediately. I had to quite my job until we found another daycare. It was abysmal.

I was worried about some of the reviews I read, but let me assure you that was a long time ago and there are new people in place. The school has been amazing for my four-year-old and six-month-old. The teachers are loving and caring and both of my children are thriving. I can’t believe the stuff my four old comes home doing, writing his name counting to 20 etc.

My strong recommendation is to not send your children to this daycare. My 2 children have been at Little Oaks for almost 2 years, and we have had tremendously more negative experiences than positive by a long shot. There are 12 other daycares in the area that charge the same amount in tuition that have better administration, better policies, better community, and better facilities. One redeeming factor: teachers we have had at our time the past couple of years have all been sweet and caring. My children were loved and cared for. They’re great at their jobs but are mistreated and not given the pay or support they need. They are expected to go without pay when their rooms close, and do not get paid well in comparison to other daycares in the area. The administration during our time at LOA made very shady and dishonest decisions. The way they handled being “out of ratio” is to report to the parent that your child is vomiting or has diarrhea both of which you cannot prove happened. My daughter was sent home 9 times in 7 months for 3 days each time due to “diarrhea diapers” and only 2 of those times did I see any in her diapers once we got her home and took care of her. It wasn’t until a teacher let me know what was happening, then addressed it with the directors. I addressed it, and my child was magically never sent home due to diarrhea again. Also, I know of several instances where children were dropped or hurt (specifically where an infant was dropped her their head off of a changing table) and the administration chose to be dishonest to the parents and said that they fell on their own and lied about the details. Poor judgment calls, to say the least. In 2021, my husband and I missed 3 months of work collectively due to classrooms being closed. Classrooms being closed due to exposures may seem responsible, but that is in effort to close a couple of times to keep other children from getting exposed. Yet, my children have been exposed 17 times at this daycare. You are expected to pay full tuition, and when I asked about this to the director at the time I was assured it was to make sure teachers were still getting paid. They are not paid when the classes are closed. They are basically only compensated when they’re working. If they do not revisit this policy soon, you should prepared to provide your own childcare for 1/4th of the year while still paying 800.00-900.00 a month per child.I will not even address the event in October 2021 since there is enough news about it, but what I will say is the situation continuously kept being mishandled by the daycare’s board. The board is almost entirely parents who are actively enrolled in the school, which have all been handpicked by the director and have no real set of clear rules of engagement, regular meetings, communicated notes, or terms to serve. Clearly, this is problematic.LOA has a new interim director who seems like a positive change, and has been there for the past few months. They’ve also been more serious about teacher education and in-services that focus at times on DEI training and building lessons. I appreciate these changes, but ultimately what is not being addressed or changed is the organizational structure. The systems in place are not able to keep anyone accountable or have appropriate oversight since they only make decisions that benefit their self interest. It makes LOA unique from other daycares, and not in a good way.If you have read this far and are still considering this daycare, I hope it is a more positive experience for you and not as difficult as we had. It is hard enough to make decisions as a parent about what is best for your children without the additional stress of being lied to and worried about the inconsistency of your child’s care. Ultimately, you deserve to be able to make an informed decision about your child’s childcare provider and that is my only motivation in sharing the personal experience.

I worked for them for about three weeks as a infant/toddler coach. My husband got a collapsed lung and I was in the hospital with him for about a week. After that the director, Lisa, called me and let me go. When she let me go she said it was because of my absences. When I sent her a text asking to please reconsider she said it wasn’t about my days that it was about my job performance. She said she had to ask me about staying in a classroom and not being on my phone. Which she never said nothing to me about either of these situations. I received mixed messages from her on my termination. Don’t work for this company if you care about communication.

Our infant twins currently go to LOA and my husband and I would recommend LOA for everyone's babies. For a first-time mom, it was reassuring knowing that the babies are cared for in a safe and learning environment. The staff & teachers are welcoming, warm and friendly to my husband, babies and myself. We are greeted daily with smiles and the babies adore their current teacher. It warms my heart to see the babies smiles when I hand over the twins to their teacher every morning. They are growing and thriving in the perfect environment for our family.

This place is unsafe for children of color. They knowingly kept a racist teacher on staff who has the potential to psychological harm children she deems “unworthy”. They failed to protect their employee and the most vulnerable and impressionable young minds from a racist monster. Management should be ashamed of their mishandling of the issue.

A dear friend of mine, an employee , was racially harassed yesterday by a new employee, and mgmt kept the new employee. The new employee told my friend that she was uncomfortable working with a black person, that she only liked ""good " black people, usedthe "n" word, and approved of the Confederate flag. My friend felt unsafe, reported it to mgmt, and they stood up for the appalling behavior of the new employee. This is wrong, and I hope you agree .

Main concern is blatant racism. If your child is a POC, please do not send them here. If your child is NOT a POC, don’t let these bigoted racists be allowed to teach your children hate.

Management unsupportive of staff. Not a safe place for children.

I’ve personally been looking into daycares/schools for my littles and decided to take this place off the list forever! The amount of blatant racism is in tolerable. As well as the staff saying, “people have a right to their opinion.” While you’re correct, it is your responsibility as someone actively involved with the next generation to make sure they’re not taught hate or bigotry. I doubt management can ever make a come back from something like this. You should make your employees feel safe, always. As well as the parents feel like they’re sending their kids to a healthy, non-toxic environment.

Excellent place. Pretty good staff. Good curriculum. There's some turnover in staff but we haven't had any issues with the staff and care since our child began going there at 3 or 4 months old. Now almost 2 years later we are still experiencing great care. It's not a magic place where all children are perfectly cared for but understanding the limitations of childcare in general, I can easily recommend this for others. The are staffing up, have a new assistant director and have been doing great through COVID even. Great procedures and good communications regarding COVID too.
