I took my Rex rabbit for its initial checkup. The staff and vet were very knowledgeable friendly and on time. They also took the time to answer my questions. Overall I was very pleased and would recommend them.

After years of going to Banfield, I took my cat to Lange. Such a wonderfully different experience! They also take care of exotic pets, like my bunny rabbit. Great people!

This place is disgusting and should not be allowed to practice veterinary care. The people who work here lack any sense of empathy or compassion. Despite the fact that this is one of only two current avian veterinarians in Knoxville, I would not recommend this place for the care of anyone’s bird. Our conure suddenly began having fast, labored breathing, and we called Lange because their website states that they provide “emergency pet care” with no appointment required and that a pet should be brought in for urgent care if it is “having difficulty breathing.” Our conure’s symptoms were dismissed and we were told that the soonest they could get him in was nearly three weeks away and that they required a $35 deposit just to make the appointment. We called the other avian veterinarian in Knoxville who immediately recognized that this was an emergency situation, but unfortunately, the vet was out for the day. We called Lange again and were told that they were not an emergency hospital. With no one else to turn to, our conure died a couple hours later. When we called to cancel our appointment and get our $35 deposit refunded, we were met with the same lack of empathy and compassion as we experienced during our initial calls and it was reiterated that Lange does not provide emergency care. Maybe they should update their website so people don’t waste their time and energy trying to get help from them.Update: Nothing in their response is true and it's sad that they would make up lies to make themselves look better. They did not advise us to go to UT vet school. Otherwise, we would have taken our conure straight there rather than spending time trying to find other avian vets and then calling Lange back to tell them another vet said it was an emergency and that we needed to get him seen ASAP. We were not informed their vet was out that day, either. We were only told that they were not an emergency hospital and the soonest appointment they had available was nearly three weeks out. They were more interested in debating whether or not they offered emergency services than actually referring us somewhere that could help.

Dr. Richie Burdeaux took amazing care of Handsome the Rooster. After a run in with a dog my little guy had almost lost his head. Dr. Burdeaux was able to examine, tend the wounds and prescribe some helpful meds. Handsome was crowing again in less than 24 hours!

Dr. Sarah Estep (formally Dr. Johnson) has been such a pleasure to visit with my reptiles. She listens to all my concerns and is never rude or pushy if I'm not comfortable with something. The last time, I went in with a snake that had a respiratory infection and didn't want her mouth forced open to look inside. They respected my wishes and didn't do that. I was nervous about bringing in this specific species of snake because they can be defensive/bitey, but Dr. Estep and staff listened to my instructions about moving slow around her and the visit went so well. I have also taken another snake to her that had an abscess and she was able to help him out. She even asked how he was doing on my last visit. I love how compassionate and gentle natured Dr. Estep and the staff are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful facility and staff!

The staff at Lange are so kind and helpful. They were very sweet to my cats and very informative about their care. We have several other vets that are closer to where we live but Lange will always be our vet of choice.

I needed to take my snake (ball python) to the vet last minute, but we weren't established at an exotics vet yet since we had recently moved. They got us in the books within a couple of days and I was so relieved!Dr. Sarah was amazing. She and the rest of the staff were helpful and very knowledgeable, not to mention so sweet! This was also the first time I saw an exotics vet offer a heating pad to make him comfortable during his exam, which was wonderful to see.I walked away confidently understanding how to administer medication to my snake and he has totally been on the mend ever since! We are definitley thinking about establishing our husky and cat here with them in the future.Thank you, team!!! Casper and I are very thankful! ??❤️
