“Stayed here for 2 days in Feb. The hotel is located close to Downtown and has several restaurants and convenience stores at walking distance. Finding a cab can be a task (5-7 minutes wait) but if you have a car, everything is a breeze. The breakfast is great, the parking is free and big and overall it's great value for money, I would highly recommend it.Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants and family run storesSafety: Seemed very safe overall”

“My daughter and I spent Saturday evening. The staff was wonderful and very pleasant and we had no issues with the parking despite the construction. Location is excellent.I’d suggest adding coffee somewhere in the lobby for guests and for the restaurant to take a little extra time to heat the buns for the burgers which were served cold.Walkability: Very close to Market Square.”

“Upon arrival, I found out my reservation was on the third floor and asked Miss Vanessa if I could switch to the first floor and she accommodated me with no problem, thank you! The hotel is clean and smells nice and the complimentary breakfast had a great assortment of options.”

“Hampton Inn East in Knoxville is a good place to stay. The stafff is the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel I have stayed in over thepast 3 or 4 years. That makes the hotel the best.Clean and friendly. Bottom line. Stay there. For the good and the bad, keep reading. We have stayed 4 times in the past 18 months and every time the staff has been topnotch. The breakfast bar is good. Dry eggs as expected but they have great condiments like salsa, cheese, jalapeno's and other stuffto put on them to make them better. The waffle bar is also great. Juice, coffe, fruit. All the normal stuff butwith a freindly staff worker to help with anything you ask.The pool is to die for.Now the bad stuff. The light on the desk is so short that you have to move it over to the side in order to sit yourlaptop on the desk. The new tv system that was installed between our visit a month ago and Christmas STINKS.It will not stay connected to the internet. You can not change the in put source so you can plug in Roku. The channel selection is horrible. They offer Netflix, but you have to log into your personal account! The new system was put in, I am sure, so they can "personalize" your stay by putting your name on the screenand letting you login to Hilton Rewards. All I can say is that they wasted a lot of time and money.I would rather have the old tv with a real remote rather than my name on the tv screen when I come into the room. The other "upgrade" they put in last year are the pump soap dispensers in the shower and on the vanity. They are horrible. The shower soap comes out in a little glob and you have to put 4 or 5 globs on your cloththen you can't get it rinsed off. You have to rinse forever. It just feels slimy.Someone convinced them this is cheaper and more chic than a bar of soap.Next time, I will bring my own.On the same rant, I used the hand lotion on the vanity and it is so bad.... You know how you put sunscreen onand it turns you white and you can't get it rubbed in? Same with the lotion.Horrible. don't touch the stuff. Again, brind your own.The bathroom floor was mopped with something that was not rinsed becaue my shoes were squeeking and stickingto the floor. This is normally due to too much cleaner in the water and not rinsing it off. Not that itwas not clean, it was just a bad experience. The bed looks good and sleeps good but the top sheet baerly covers the bed. It looks like it is for a twinsize bed. It barely hangs over the edge by 3 inches.Concerning lighting again. The lighting over the dresser/fridge/TV area. The only light on that side of the room isthe tiny little lamp on the desk. The area whole side of the room is in shadow and dim. You can't see anyting onthe dresser or read the button on the microwave. The chair in the corner is broken down. You sink way down when you sit. There is no foot stool so it is veryuncomfortable and as there is no other place to sit so you have no choice. Hubby propped his feet on ourcooler. So your sitting options are a broken down chair, the desk or the bed.I know this sounds harsh but it is the truth. It is clean, the staff is great, the location is good, the bedsleeps well and it will continue to be our Knoxville / Strawberry Plains choice of hotel.Rooms: Hampton Inn East in Knoxville is a good place to stay. The stafff is the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel I have stayed in over thepast 3 or 4 years. “We stayed at the Oliver during our Fall Colors trip 10-22 and it was a delight, one of the highlights of our trip since, unfortunately, there were not many "Fall Colors". The Oliver is a fun little boutique-y hotel with wonderful surprises. Would highly recommend it.Noteworthy details: Quaint, boutique-y, small hotel in an old historic building.”

“The front staff was awesome. ( Sam) This made the stay even better. We stayed one night and returned three (3) weeks later and only thing that changed was they were even nicer. The rooms, both times were very clean. Great customer service. Highly recommend. Thank you. Jim C.”

“We are traveling from Long Island to Florida. Wanted a place near the interstate. I called several in the area, and all were expensive for a one night stay. We also travel with my certified emotional support dog. Many major chain hotels charge $50 for a dog. I called HolidayI inn Exptess and was told “ if she’s a service dog, there’s no charge”. Which not one hotel ? inquired about!!! We also were offered an AARP discount. We, however, get the military discount. The check in process was quick and FRIENDLY! The room was large and spacious! What I mean is high ceilings! Beds were very comfortable!!!! Room was quiet, dark , and very clean. Breakfast included!! Coffee very good. I give this hotel a 10! For a one night stay! What more do you we need!!”

“My stay overall was pretty good. the bathroom in the room could use chair height commodes. the older we get, its sometime hard to get up. the tv was not very good. could not scroll thru the guide, had to wait for it to scroll on its own. and not much but sports on it. If you are not a sports person, not much to watch. room was very clean.Rooms: need better tv and chair height commodes.Nearby activities: was on a military reunion.Safety: seemed safe.Walkability: didn't walk much.Food & drinks: breakfast was pretty good. could have used real eggs instead of the watery kind. otherwise it was good.Noteworthy details: easy to get to and return home from. sat close to interstate.”

“Very unhappy with this hotel! As much as I had to pay for it I expected a lot better. The sink had lots of hair and some type of funk in it like it hadn’t even been cleaned after the last person. There was some type of crushed food in the carpet…The shampoo and conditioner were out. Several of the towels had some yucky brown spots on them. It was just disappointing for how much you pay for it.”

“Nice hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good location within walking distance of a lot of stuff in Knoxville ( Market Square, Old Town and other areas). The only negative is the cost of parking.”

“This was a delightful stay. The people there were just lovely. Our room was very clean, the beds comfortable, and it had all the standard amenities (fridge, microwave, hairdryer) that you would expect. Breakfast was typical for this class of hotel, but good. Everyone especially enjoyed their showers, as the head was adjustable and it had good pressure. The toiletries for the shower were wall-mounted, so very convenient and we didn't have to deal with those little plastic bottles or running out. The aesthetic isn't actually my style, as I prefer warmer colors and lighting, but the halls are very bright and rooms provide plenty of lighting. Most importantly everything was very clean. We were on the second floor and there staircase right nearby to pop in and out of the lobby, which was very convenient. (There's also an elevator, but the stairs were easy.) This would be on my go-back list if I'm in the area again.”

“I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on the weekend of New Year's Eve with my family and it was a great hotel! The rooms were very nice and clean. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was very easy to get to. I especially enjoyed the ability to play some games of pool in the lobby area, as well as the giant Jenga they had amongst various other games! The complementary breakfast was pretty good as well! I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I'm ever planning another trip to Tennessee!”

“For a fairly new hotel the decorating choices are on point but things are already falling apart. The toilet paper holder was broken as was the soap dispenser in the shower. The shining light is Thomas who works the front desk; he's lovely and welcoming and helpful.”

“We booked a room for 4 people -two adults and two teenagers (ages 15 and 14). Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the room assigned to us (402) had only ONE king bed for all of us. When we requested a room with two queen beds, we were informed that the hotel was sold out and no alternative arrangements could be made. Additionally, the room we were given had a very strong odor of dog urine, which made our stay extremely unpleasant.”

“I always love it here. Tim and parents run a nice clean and quiet hotel. They're very nice and understaff and I know the old feller in the mornings but he is a competition sweetheart we enjoy our stay every time.”

“The room was spacious and clean, the only issue I had was the open shower that drains in the middle of the floor. I did not book a handicapped room. I did have the microwave glass plate shatter in 2 while heating up food. Just replace the microwave and all good. I'd stay here again, would just make sure not an open shower unit.”
