This was by far the worst shopping experience in Knoxville. We have lived in this town for a few years and found commerce a little sparse but doable with wonderful kind folks. I have wanted to check out this store for a while and finally did so one evening. Three people who worked there watched me walk around the store with items in my hand, made eye contact without a smile, an acknowledgement or an offer to start a dressing room. Once I made it to the register with a few items the sales clerk asked me if anyone was helping me (for purpose of commission, not because she cared about my experience / supported by what came next). I told her I was noticed a number of times but nobody offered any words or offer to help which I told her I found disappointing. What transpired next was bizarre. She gave me an expressionless stare (would have been nice to hear oh I'm so sorry is there anything else I can help you with? I know, social skill and genuine concern is perhaps too much to ask for) threw my stuff in a bag and handed it over. I asked for tissue she stuffed it into the bag. I clarified by asking her to wrap the items which she did and handed the bag second time. At which point I asked her if the receipt was in the bag to which she replied yes. The level of disconnect and inability to just be nice for a customer facing person was astonishing. I have so many friends from other parts of the country and from other parts of the world visiting us quite frequently who I love to take shopping. I would never bring them to this store. The consistency around the lack of kindness and helpfulness was a huge turn off. One start for some fun clothing and other items. There is nothing wrong with the store itself. I recommend they step up with resourcing people who have skills and want to be there because this type of behavior is a liability for a heavily trafficked location like downtown.

Super cute shop with lots of great items. I loved seeing all the wacky UT themed earrings and apparel. They also carry regular, non-orange clothing and accessories, as well as shoes, gifts, home and bath items, books, jewelry and more. There's so much to see and this would be a go-to spot for me for gifts if I lived in the area. I went in twice while staying downtown and fell in love with this cute leather cross-body bag. I was curious to see if the brand/designer was local, so I looked it up online. It was not local and the bag was steeply discounted online (50% off) vs the price at Bliss, so I ended up ordering it online directly from the brand. I do love to support local businesses and shops, but I also have to consider my budget. That being said, this is a great place to stop for a unique souvenir or gift for yourself or someone else!

Bliss is a Knoxville gem. I've followed them through the multiple Market Square locations, the opening of the giant furniture store and now the fabulous Gay St location. Need a gift or some home dec kitsch? They've got you covered.

A variety of clothing styles, but a little too expensive. They do have a clearance rack to look at.

LOVE this spot so much. I honestly think I could spend a whole day here and would gladly spend an entire year's worth of my salary if not for, ya know...those pesky bills. This store is well-named and is bright, cheery, and beckons you inside from the street. Whether you are visiting or are a local looking for gift items or something for yourself, this store has something for everyone. There are clothes/shoes, games, jewelry, skincare, books, TN/Knoxville-specific goods, and knickknacks galore. There are many items that you don't even KNOW you need until you feast your eyes on them. The staff was welcoming and friendly without being overzealous. I need to go back in without my husband so that I can overanalyze the differing varieties of lip balms without judgmental eyes. ha!

This show is one of many in the Market Square/Gay Street area. The shops are all cute, but so many have the exact same "unique" gifts. Bliss seems to genuinely have a stock of items that are actually unique. They have a great stock of super cute women's clothes - things that are unique but definitely real life wearable. There were several mannequin outfits that I wish I could just magically transport to my closet! Prices are quite reasonable for a boutique with a mix of high and low items. They also have a great selection of inexpensive accessories, from jewelry, bags, home accessories, toys, kitchen items, stickers, and most helpfully - clear bags!! We found one great basic option for only $15, but they had some more stylish options as well. I loved the pride section most of all! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I went back again the next day just to make sure I didn't miss anything!
