I visited the Bleak house today. It was my first time and what a fantastic experience. Both ladies working there were very knowledgeable and a wealth of info. I spent three hours there and could have spent more. Fantastic hidden gem right in Knoxville and should be on any War for Southern Independence history lovers list. Thank y'all for a wonderful time and I can’t wait to bring my family.

I found this place while searching for venues for an event. Turns out the Bleak House was built by slaves according to the American Battlefield Trust. Not sure why someone would want to celebrate their marriage in a slaveowner's mansion.

We had our wedding there this past weekend, and it was so beautiful. The historic house and the incredible grounds made the perfect backdrop for the most important day of my life. Rose did such a wonderful job organizing everything and helping to accommodate all of our guests and vendors! Thank you so much Rose!
