Clara has an amazing bright personality and her brother who drove us to the canoe spot was just as kind and witty. Great duo for beginners because they are very reassuring and knowledgeable of the terrain…I would definitely recommend canoeing or kayaking here.

Our group ended up having a great time. I think some things need some improvement with this company though.
1. Staff were adamant that they couldn’t check anyone in until 9:00 AM, when everyone was supposed to leave for the first trip of the day. This resulted in a long, chaotic line. We heard comments from other customers about how unfriendly and unhelpful the staff was.
2. We were part of a group of about 20. None of the staff addressed us or spoke to us about the river or which canoes we were using or where to get out for the end of trip. Fortunately we had some in our group who had been there before and knew where to go. But even on their FAQ on the website they don’t list it. Even arriving at the river there was zero communication from staff regarding who was getting in which boat and when. They really didn’t talk to anyone.
3. The river was super low (a little over a foot for much of the trip). We saw three canoes tip due to navigating the difficult rocky areas, which would normally be smooth sailing. Even tips on what to look for in the water would have helped on finding the best route through these rocky areas. It was definitely a tip-a-canoe type of day! I’d try another company next time.

Great father/son trip on the Harpeth! Very smooth drop off and pickup, excellent canoe, and a very peaceful and fun float. Go check them out!

Was such a fun trip. Water was nice and clear low in some spots. You definitely want to check water level with this trip. Very big rocks to watch for they lurk just under the water. Plenty of places to pull over to chill and rest. Best group of guys out there to help with questions.

The staff here are so nice and helpful. The canoe trip down the river was beautiful and relaxing. I saw lots of interesting wildlife. While I was alone with my 2 kids on the river, there were enough others out, that I never felt isolated and I know someone would have helped me out if I needed it, but there were not so many people out that it felt crowded either. It's a great activity for a single mom with kids!
I would rent a canoe or kayak from them again anytime!

I had a 10am Reservation. I watched the staff for hours do very little work. No one seem to care that their was huge groups of people waiting to get on the water. No sense of urgency. No communication. After 3 hours we were finally able to get on the river. Owner ( or the guy that seemed to be in charge) was rude and not helpful. Will not be back.

I made a rez for 10am Saturday and showed up at 9:45am. I was surprised to have to pay $5 for overflow parking but then standing in line for a long time to check-in. Once that is done you grab your life jacket and paddle and then wait again for a shuttle to drop you off. Once we got into the water it was exactly 2 hours from my time of arrival. I had two kids with me so it didn't make for the best day in 90 degree weather. By the time we got off the water is was 4:00pm. It was a much longer day than expected. There was no direction before getting on the canoe. So, I had no idea the water would automatically push you to the far right so we ended up on the edge and right away hit brush and lost two paddles. Had to get out and had two kids screaming. Pretty awful. Not one told us where we drop off the canoe. We met up with a friend who gave us the scoop but it was a poor first time experience. Wear swimwear you don't care about. The water is very dirty and if you sit on any of the rocks the algae sticks and looks like mud. It took intense soaking, scrubbing and more than one wash to get it out. If I ever did this again I would try a different vendor.

The staff did a great job to keep the line moving, it took a minute to get the kayaks in the water because other rental places didn’t know what they were doing. When our guys got there they got everything sorted and helped the other rental crew to keep things moving. They’re always respectful and nice. I will always come back because of the great service they always provide!

Had the best time kayaking!! EVERYONE there was so nice. I screwed up my reservation, they fixed it for me, no problem. All the employees were super friendly and helpful. We did the 10 mile float, took us about 6 hours. Highly recommend them for your trip on the Harpeth

Have rented from T-A-C five or six times. They make it possible for me to canoe by doing all the heavy lifting I can’t do. They have good equipment and very sturdy and safe canoes. The 2.5 hour route is an easy trip that novices can make. I think the prices are reasonable. Please tip the drivers and porters they work very hard.

Super friendly staff got us set up for a fun day of canoeing the river and was sure to get us back safe to our cars when we were done!
