Got my car going again. Definitely pricey on the parts though so that sucked pretty bad.

I have been using these guys for going on 6 years now and they have worked on multiple cars for me. I highly recommend having your car serviced through them because they are fair priced, do their best to get you in as soon as possible, very good at communicating, and everyone that I have dealt with there has been very knowledgeable.Services: Transmission

Some of these reviews sound eerily close to my experience with this business. I wont go into great detail here, yet, as I am taking this business to court. I will post a rather long explanation after the court date. $3,300 and 3 days after I drove out of this business and I cant drive my 1966 Mustang. MORE TO COME!!What you see below is his typical response, telling eveyone how honest and reliable they are....like I said more to come!! I took my car in to get a hydraulic clutch bled...which they were not capable of doing..they convinced me to let them convert it to a mechanical clutch. They simply did not have the expertise to do the job...end of story. I will take my car to a professional let them repair it..if in there opinion it was this business's fault we are going to court with an expert witness.....BEWARE RUN FROM THIS PLACE!! There are plenty of reliable transmission shops out there.23% of the reviews on this page are at 2 stars or less....go ahead count them. Does that sound reliable to you?NO I will not attack this business owner personally as he is trying to do to me.AGAIN....$3,300 with a "transmission specialist" and it wont pull away from a red light!Service: Transmission repair

Took my gmc to have the trans rebuilt but was told all the hard parts were flne and he did some adjustments to it.Had to take it back twice and still wasn't right. After the 18 month warranty was over everything quit working all at once. For 1600 dollars it should have lasted a little longer than the warranty.I'll never take another there.

They rebuilt my moms 2011 sierra and after getting it back it had the worst whining noise coming from the trans along with it feeling very tight and hard shifting. Had to be returned immediately to have the issues repaired. The noise is gone but the trans still feels like it was done poorly and could honestly tear upat any moment.Services: Transmission repair

I had some leaking near the transfer case. Found out it was just the seal on the yoke of the drive shaft. Fast and professional service. Took my truck to 4 other places in the last 2 months and had for different quotes with 4 different diagnoses up to $2000. Derrick and his crew fixed it CORRECTLY for under $200.00. Money well spent.

I have a small motorhome and had it checked locally for some repairs on it. I was told that the generator wasn’t working. I was also told I would need to go to Knoxville for repairs. I decided to look locally for help with repairing it. Fortunately, I used google and this business came up. As it turned out the generator wasn’t completely plugged in to the motorhome. The owner checked out the generator and found it was in major need of an oil change. This was done, and the charges were very reasonable. He gave me some very good pointers on the use of the refrigerator, and fixed the emergency brake that would stick. I feel so much better about using my motorhome now. I haven’t seen a business show this kind of help in a very long time. My dad and brothers had a garage for many years, and my visit to Jonesborough Transmission reminded me of how my dad and brothers ran their business. I will definitely be using them for maintenance and repairs on all of my vehicles in the future.

Hard to know long term if the work was good as they rebuilt my transmission, but I was referred there by seasoned mechanic. Darrell, the owner was pleasant and well spoken, but I was a little surprised when the final bill was rendered. He warned me right up front that it could be up to $2,600 so I was prepared to have to pay almost $3,000 with tax. He said because I am a senior and a Veteran that he would consider a discount for cash which I was prepared to pay. After starting, he called to tell me some other parts would be needed; but they wouldn't cost much. I was surprised, having been led to believe that $2,600 would be a worst case estimate, which is what I initially asked for; and I have to wonder what was the $2,600 for, all labor? The parts were about $400 I hadn't planned on. He charged me the full $2,600 plus $400 for additional parts I didn't expect, about $300 for tax and about $150 for credit card fees (I decided to pay for the repairs with a credit card when it went over $3,000.) I can only hope the work is good and I won't have any further issues with my transmission. It seems to be OK, but I didn't realize I had a problem with my transmission until the day before it went out.
