Alex and David both were awesome. It is very hard to find honest salesmen. They didn't sugar coat it told me like it was. Process was easy and had good time talking with them. They definitely had a fair price, they weren't trying break you. I will definitely do business with them again and recommend anyone needing a ride to go see them in Gray at specialty cars.

Bought at 2017 Ford escape titanium. 149,000 miles on it. Loved it at first. Paid $7100 cash. One week later “check engine” light came on. Noticed popping noises in the front, when turning steering wheel. Took it to Firestone for new tires, brakes, two new CV joints on the front $2100 cash more spent. (Didn’t really mind that cost because that is normal wear and tear issues) The escape had difficulty starting after getting gas twice. Took it to Advance Auto to get the code for the service engine light. Faulty fuel purge valve. Drove it to work, came out vehicle wouldn’t start at all. Had to have it towed in to the Ford Dealership another $130 cash. Ford diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty fuel purge valve and possible transmission issues. Cost for diagnosis another $210 cash. Quoted $2715 from Ford to repair all issues and with a possibility of needed a transmission replacement in the future. Ford offered me $500 for trade. I went and got the vehicle from Ford non repaired. I let Specialty Cars know my issues while the vehicle was at the Ford dealership. The owner did not return my call until 6 days later and by that time I had traded the escape off to another vehicle at another larger dealership and received $1500 for it. I had not even gotten to tag the vehicle and already spent over $10,000 cash in that vehicle and only got $1500 back for trade. The owner was nice when he called me and I was nice as well however that much being wrong with the escape and with all the money I was out, I think he could have at least offered to pay me the profit he had made on it at the very least. I know he is not under any obligation to give me any money back, but sometimes in life it’s just the right thing to do! There was way way too much wrong with that vehicle to be selling it in that condition. I have never bought a used vehicle which that much trouble in my entire life and I’m 51 yrs old. If you buy here, proceed with caution, on the higher mileage vehicles. After reading the response to this review, I don’t recall being offered a “Pro Guard” warranty. After spending $10,000 for a “money pit” vehicle a couple of hundred more dollars for an extended warranty, would not have hurt me! Spend more time checking your high mileage vehicles out before putting them on the lot so quickly. I’ll never buy from another small car lot like this again. I would’ve been better off taking my chances at a “Buy here pay here” lot.

I hate car dealerships!
There I said it; and having said that. Perhaps I should explain? After my last several attempts at purchasing a vehicle. Suffice it to say that I purchased my last car at an online dealer. It was a great experience, and was already looking online again. Then I stumbled across Specialty Cars in Gray TN. I took a chance to go and check out the car I was interested in. I can honestly say that I’m SUPER GLAD I did. There couldn’t have been any two nicer guys than Alex and David to deal with. Needless to say, I was offered a fair price on the car, and bought it the same day. THANKS AGAIN guys for your honesty and willingness to do business with a stranger. I would “definitely” buy from Specialty Cars again!

I bought a Toyota Tacoma from Specialty Cars. It was a pleasure working with Alex. He spent time on phone calls providing information before I drove from another city to see it and in person at the dealership. The Tacoma was as described and just what I was looking for. I had been looking for an SUV for about four months. Was going to NC to look at a couple and decided to look at Specialty Cars website before driving over. So glad I did! I went by the next day and found exactly what I was looking for. Alex was very courteous and professional.... he was great to work with. I purchased my Suburban the following day. I would highly recommend working with these guys when looking for your next vehicle.

Would I reccomend this car lot? Yes I would and will. I have spent days talking with Alex about what we needed in a car. He went way beyond what anyone could have expected. He genuinely seemed to care and made this a the best experience that it could be!
