My husband Rarely shops for clothes, but when he does I am lucky to get him to try items on. The last time I was able to get him to shop was at Jos A Banks in Knoxville, TN and he had a great experience. So imagine my disappointment when we went to our local Johnson City, TN store and it was an entirely different experience.I am not leaving a 1 star because some of the employees were nice and the prices on sale are fair.We bought him a shirt that was packaged. He had tried on the demos(like who does Not let you try on the shirt you want to buy for size? They don’t-nor will the owner allow you to return it even with a flaw!), and he purchased the shirt in the size that fit from the demos. I must say that many of their clothes are Not consistent in sizing, which is probably due to some being made in China, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc.The top button hole was off. It was clearly visible in the shirt, because it was not cut or sewn properly. My husband went to exchange it and the sales clerk said the owner will not accept any folded shirt back, they sent him out the door with a button extender. Are you kidding me!?! Nope, not at all. So not only can you not try on the shirt you want to buy, but if it is mis-sized or defective, you can not return it! Well that was Not stated on the receipt nor is it an online policy. Urg. That owner clearly doesn’t understand quality or customer care.There are Too many choices to think this is acceptable. The online store does not have this policy. So yep, not going back. I had to return a pair of pants they ordered in because they were off in the sizing too and ordered the same pants on line and they fit. You are seeing the trend.We were there on a weekend, during March-which seemed to be prom season. They were more interested in Renting than they were Buying customers. They said he had to come back to get measured for an alteration which would have Never happened at the store in Knoxville. Needless to say, I think this store could use some improvement and customer service changes.

The Ladies were amazing and Top Notch. Not only were they efficient they got our group set up in no time and had us sized for our tux rentals. They continued to go above and beyond helping with shopping for additional shirts and shorts. They folded tho clothing up wrapped it in paper to keep it from getting wrinkled. I would highly recommend going here if you are looking for people who want to help provide a great experience.We came here After being treated like a inconvenience and a bother at to their sister store Mens Warehouse. If you are looking for horrible service David at Mens Warehouse would be more than happy to accommodate that He will be rude and unhelpful he specializes in telling you how he does not care if you are a customer or not he has appointments scheduled all day but has an opening if you can wait 1 1/2 hours while the store is empty and his coworker sits on his phone and plays his games. Make sure you make an appointment so he can set aside time to treat you poorly. I am sure he will be busy with a empty store and folding jeans that are already folded and will not have time for you with out an appointment.

I’m a big guy and always have to go to their website to order clothes. I have put on a few pounds and just needed measurements so I could go to their website and purchase items in my size. The lady working there told me that the measurements wouldn’t work online. I’m sure she wouldn’t make a commission that way but this process has absolutely worked for me in the past at this same location. It’s pretty insulting to be told something doesn’t work when you’ve done it many times and spent a bunch of money with this company. Find somewhere else that values you as a customer and don’t waste your time at this location.

Quality has gone way down, and the selection and service is very bad. Too many other men's stores online to go to this location.When there own employees are poorly dressed, that is the sign.

I was in the area vacationing for the holidays and needed a tailored suit. Upon arrival I was greeted by Linda, and she was able to help me and give personalized recommendations. I stopped by a competitor initially and left after being basically told they would have to order everything, and their tailor was out for the holidays. Linda set me up with everything and the alterations were done within 2.5 hours post sale. Amazing experience and phenomenal customer service. I would recommend anybody reading this to go to this location!

Horrible customer service. My partner and I have been so incredibly patient. They constantly have messed up orders and correct sizing for weeks. Would never work with them again. One of the ladies at the front this passed week kept trying to place blame or say the colors were the same etc when they were clearly numbered different shades. We’re all about having patience and being okay with mistakes but its just flat out shady how they have managed mishaps. Given them plenty of grace and room to recover. Do not go here if you want service worth while at least until they’re either under new management or cycle out employees unwilling to help customers. A shame truly.

Went in on Friday the 28th of April 2023 to buy a suit belt tie and shoes. Walked in to a woman sitting down and she asked me what I was looking for. When I said a suit she said we don’t have any large sizes and said sorry and walked away. Probably the worst experience I’ve ever been through after shopping there many times. Anyway I walked out and went to Men’s Warehouse. In 15 minutes I got help because they were very busy . The amazing thing is they measured me and determined that I need a 52R suit jacket and 40 waist. (Stretch band lol) they took time to help me find the suit that was amazing , matched a shirt , matched a tie , a new belt , and shoes. The pants had to be altered and I was worried because I had an event in 5 hours. They altered my pants within 2 hours . $791 dollar sale to Men’s Warehouse because they took the time to help me. Joseph A Banks has gone down hill and I really feel like that woman shouldn’t be working there. I’m a business owner and it’s staff like this that ruin a name.

Not pleased. $60 reversible belt breaks in half 94 days after purchase. Salesperson tells me other customers have told her reversible belts were of poor quality. But their warranty period is 90 days. I actually bought another non reversible belt and asked if it could be discounted, salesperson says there can’t be any discount. Great way to keep your customers. Very unlikely I will darken their door again.

Every time I come to the Johnson City store, there is a good selection of quality clothing at fair prices and the staff is always very helpful and pleasant. If they can’t help me right away, they always acknowledge me and help me as soon as they can. I enjoy every visit. They make things easy.

My brother and I were out shopping for his upcoming business trip. I tagged along, because he needed a second opinion. We decided on Jos A. Bank, and we were very surprised, to find all of this amazing stuff, here in Johnson City. We were greeted right when we entered the door by a wonderful sales lady, Lorena. She was awesome. She ran all over the store finding us stuff, beautiful sport coats, jeans, and sweaters. She put all of it together! He made out like a bandit! Thank you so much to Lorena, and her team.
