When I was sold a car with issues and brought it back for return, Ethan the General Manager assisted me in correcting the situation. I left very pleased with the upstanding service and integrity that was shown.

Note that their car inspection is not as thorough as they might have you believe. 3 months ago, I bought a recently used car (no older than 3 years) with supposedly no issues during their inspection and servicing of the car. However, I had issues from the get-go with water sealing in the trunk. I thought that since I had a warranty, this issue would be covered under the warranty that they had encouraged me to pay extra for... it was not. I should have taken the car back IMMEDIATELY when I discovered the pooled water in my trunk on the same day I picked up the car and demanded they fix this at that time. Or alternatively, they should have at least encouraged me to bring the car back so they could address it when we did call that day to complain about the water in the trunk. I kind of doubt they would have done anything about the issue even if I had brought it back same day, but I don't know for sure because I wasn't cantankerous enough to do that. Regardless, they will not address the issue later even if the issue is not covered under warranty and was determined to be caused by damage that happened to the car before I purchased it, so it's my issue now. Fair enough, but for those of you that want to learn from my mistake, just know that you should DEFINITELY be cautious about how much you trust that their car inspection would have caught any issues and that any issues you do have with the car should be addressed immediately with them. Do not trust that a warranty or good faith from them will do the trick for you.

It's been a while since I posted on this place I just wanted to remind everyone what a terrible place this is to buy a car and how rude and unprofessional the sales staff are Travon being the worst will lie to you and sale anything he can for a dollar commission with out consideration that you will have your family in the unsafe vehicle that thay sale I spent as much on getting the car back to it's full working potential than I paid for the car but now the car is worth 2 times what I paid for it so that is the only good thing I can say in the review DO NOT BUY A CAR HRER and I gave it a star because I had to to place this review

Very friendly people. All the work done on my vehicle was completed, no problems. Nice waiting room with plenty of snacks, water and coffee.

I took my cx-9 in for a recall on the airbag and went ahead and grabbed some routine maintenance while I was there. It ended up taking like 6 hours but my service advisor Madison was awesome keeping me in the loop and checking in on me and even made a follow up call to confirm everything was good with the car. I hope this place knows what an awesome employee they have!

I just purchased a used 2021 Cadillac for my daughter from Johnson City Mazda. I live 6.5 hours away and was pleased to find that the car was exactly as described over the phone by my salesperson, Brittney. She was very curtious, friendly, and professional. While getting the paperwork together, I talked with other sales associates there and found EVERYONE to be equally as pleasant to deal with. In the past at other dealerships i have found that the other "nonselling associates" dont go out of their way to be friendly assumably because they weren't the ones getting the commission. That was defiantely not the case here, even with me coming in late and with them staying after closing to finish the dealThe process was a breeze, including the financing which was done in house with the same professionalism as had been shown by the sales staff. Thanks for a great experience! I got here because of a bad experience at another dealership, otherwise I would never have made that long of a trip from my home town to purchase a car. Now that I know what to expect from Johnson City Mazda, I wouldnt hesitate to drive the few extra hours to do business with these good people again.Highly recommended!

I just bought a preowned 2013 mazda cx5. I’ve always been weary of dealerships because I’ve had some bad experiences in the past. But this dealership was absolutely amazing. I could say nonstop good things about them and Lauren. Lauren was so helpful and nice. Their financial advisor is also very good at his job, he goes over in detail on everything very good and this dealership doesn’t hide anything from you. They both really helped me to get this car. When I get another car I definitely will be going to this dealership. My car runs perfectly. No ticks or anything in the engine and shifts super smoothly. 100% recommend Lauren and her team!!

After shopping around for longer than I’d care to admit for a new vehicle, it was Worth Peak who helped me make the decision to go with a Mazda. Every other car salesman I’ve ever delt with previously has been pushy, but not Worth! He was so easy going, honest, and I really felt as if he wanted the best fit for me and wasn’t just trying to sell me something. I cannot say enough positive things, and highly recommend asking for him - you won’t regret it! I love my new Mazda and I’m also grateful for Laura’s responsiveness, making this buying process as easy as it could be. Those two have won my business!!

Worth Peak was a very friendly and straightforward salesman. He secured me a great payment deal on my new CX30 and didn't beat around the bush or run me in circles. Highly recommend him and this dealership!!

12/28/22: In the interest of honesty and transparency, I did receive a call this morning from the Dealership. The manager said he would gather up all the information about my concern so he could personally address everything with me If the matter is resolved by the spirit and letter of the law, I could later be submitting a review about how this dealership responded & how great they treat their customers. I will update after Jan 7, 2023.----------------------------- Initial Dec 27 review -----------------------------I have been a loyal Mazda owner for 15 years now, & I have gone the CPO route since I picked up a 2016 Mazda 6 GT. I traded up in 2020, getting my fifth Mazda, also CPO, and I loved it. As a CPO buyer, I have relied on CARFAX exclusively for accurate history, & the savings realized by getting a low mileage CPO has been substantial. Sadly, my 2019 CX-5 GT was totaled in a head-on collision back in May. Once I was finally reimbursed by the other driver's insurance, I went to Johnson City Acura Mazda to purchase a 2021 GT Premium AWD with every option. That purchase took place on June 30, 2022, and knowing the vehicle inside and out already, I was thrilled. The CARFAX showed regular maintenance reports, initial sale date (Dec 2021), remaining warranty, etc. I could not believe I had found yet another gem, as there were hardly any new or used Mazda vehicles in a 250 mile radius. It was too good to be true, however, as the chrome trim around the bottom window sills is coming apart - easily visible - and the battery is being drained by something within the electrical system and/or components. Long story short, I scheduled a warranty appointment with this dealership, only to be called by "Josh" of the service department for clarification of issues. He told me that he was sure that the trim pieces, and maybe even the electrical issue, was likely due to previous body work, including door replacement, and a total repaint. He mistakenly thought I bought my CX-5 from a Nashville Mazda dealer. I explained that I bought it from HIS dealership, and I also told him that the CARFAX was "clean", with no damage, no body work, repainting, etc. listed, which was THE #1 reason I bought it with 10,000 miles on it. When I told him the car was advertised (fraudulently) as "Clean CARFAX, no damage, accidents, recalls, etc," his response was: "Not if there was no police report." How reassuring. I've reported all this to CARFAX. I've yet to even challenge the Dealership Management regarding this mess, as I'm holding out hope that CARFAX will confirm that JC Acura Mazda deliberately hid this information. I have managed to find out that this CX-5 was "repaired" at a Body Shop in Bristol, TN, just about 30 minutes away from the selling dealership. It was sent there 4 times - and the CARFAX says it was serviced for "routine maintenance" at Bristol Chevrolet about a week before I bought it. I have relied on CARFAX, & Mazda's CPO sales process, for over a decade now. I wish I could say that this issue has a chance at being resolved, but at this time, it appears that neither the dealership, nor CARFAX, will stand by their "history reports". CARFAX can only report what's accurately reported, but just look up their website. They are also in the business of selling cars, promoting dealerships, etc., so they are hardly a "Consumer Reports" type of "independent information" company. I wish I never would have seen the AD for this car. It did seem odd that after I set Autotrader and Car Gurus alerts to notify me if a CPO CX-5 went on sale in a 250 miles radius back in mid-May, I got the alert on this CPO CX-5 just days before I bought it. I took the time to write this up just in case someone else reads it, and then realizes that every "used" car cannot be trusted just because the dealership advertises "Clean CARFAX, local trade, like new..." If one person is spared this type of experience

Purchased a 2022 Mazda 3 earlier this week. Worth and Laura made the experience an easy one and I definitely wouldn't hesitate to ask for their assistance again.Edit: I have dropped this review to a 3 star rating based on poor correspondence following the purchase of the car. This has been an exhausting experience.

I was just informed the dealership has changed owners since I purchased my car6 months ago so I want to make it clear this happened with the previous owners not the current owners.I am not sure how I can delete my review..We bought a 2008 Chevy Impala and didn’t even make it 2 miles down the road before the check engine light came on.Took the car back 3 times for them to work on it in 2 weeks time..The check engine light still came back on.It has been diagnosed with thousands of dollars in problems more then the car is worth and it still has multiple leaks and the power steering pump is blown. It’s a shame I traded in my Ford Escape and it was in Great condition for junk.We just wanted a used car with a lower payment .They should have to take this car back but of course they will not.Once you sign those papers your not there problem but they would care if this had been done to them..Please stay clear away from this place. If you go to the negative reviews you will see several people have had the same issue.I’m sure this place has multiple lawsuits because they are selling a bunch of lemons..We didn’t no until after we purchased the car that it was from up north it is ate up with rust underneath it..

Health issues made my WRX completely impractical for my family. I had been looking at all the manufacturers trying to find a balance between features I wanted and a target price. Mazda kept coming up so I went by Johnson City Mazda. I was met by Jordan when walking to the door. Jordan was attentive to the points I brought up and really listened to what I was looking for. I had 3 models in mind and went back and forth several times on model and trim level. I requested several test drives and changed my mind several times on model and trim level. Jordan was very patient and I think his goal from the first handshake was to get me in the “right” car. Jordan is knowledgeable about the vehicles he sells and was helpful in getting me exactly what I was looking for. It was tough getting rid of my WRX but I couldn’t be happier with the cx 30. It checked every block. Thank you Jordan!

Not much to be excited for. I bought a used vehicle at this dealership. It was a decent little car at first glance, but a quick review by a mechanic after the purchase revealed a failing head gasket and a bad rear main seal, two major motor issues one would not expect from the used car inventory of a new car dealership. The vehicle was sold as-is, and I declined an extended warranty. Hindsight is 20/20, I suppose. The salesman was pleasant, so I will give an extra star for that experience. However, I won't return. If you choose to do business with a Bill Gatton dealership, especially if you are in the market for a used vehicle, demand an inspection by an independent mechanic before your purchase. If they refuse, find another option. This car should have been sent to auction or repaired before being placed in inventory. Very disappointed since they should have known better.
