I contemplated whether or not I should post this but I feel the public should know. My husband and I were at Walmart yesterday grabbing a few groceries when I seen a cockroach in the bread dept! We left our cart and alerted management immediately. I really hope they do something, I was completely grossed out and imagined how many homes could be affected by this bringing in groceries that may contain roaches or roach eggs. Will not be back to this location ever again.

Granted it’s a needed update for whatever reason I’m sure but no one can find anything. Shopping for now is difficult to say the least the lines are long to check out and many self checks aren’t even open for use. Cashiers are in short supply as well. I hate shopping with Walmart and seldom go anymore where as I used to go often and enjoy myself. For many reasons this place is on the decline.

The store in Jeff City and the one on the west end of Morristown recently installed new self checkouts and a new POS (computer system). One would hope that with the change came improvement. Sadly, this is NOT the case for either store. Today in Jeff City, I had my all time worst checkout experience in all my years combined shopping at Walmarts in E. Tenn. A worker confirmed they were short staffed which was apparent with the LONG lines. I went through self checkout ringing up $225 in groceries. Ive gotten use to that but the next part is what shocked me. I had money left on an e-gift card that I had used part of just two nights ago at the Morristown location without any problem. Today when I scanned the barcode, the screen said the system was not able to read that type of barcode. The attendant was clueless when I asked for help and even tried to get me to use another method of payment. She tried calling for a manager several times but no one came to help. After 20 min of holding up the line, she finally suspended my order and led me to cust service where I waited another 10 min ( mind you I had ice cream and other perishable items already bagged up). Finally a "coach" led me to another register and played around for 5 min before he was able to key in my gift card number and the pin which was printed on my egift card print out. Something so simple should never have taken 35+ min to resolve and get me on my way. The worst part is that not once did anyone apologize to me for the inconvenience but rather made me feel like it was my fault for choosing for my chosen method of payment. When I received my egift card, I suspected I might encounter a problem using it and even visited customer service at the other store requesting that the funds on it be placed on a physical real card but I was informed they are not allowed to do that. Well they need to do something...either fix their computer program, train their employees how to use the new one, or allow customers the option of transferring egift card funds onto a physical card. And until the problem is fixed, be more mindful of their customer's time and store experience. In all honesty, if an apology had been given to me acknowledging the inconvenience they caused me today, I probably would not be writing this. I will drive to Knoxville and shop at Kroger next time before I even consider giving WM my business for a long while!

I was at this Walmart last night 07/29/2024 and me and my spouse was just walking by the self checkouts one the pharmacy side when one of there workers came up and told me I was to skinny and needed to gain weight. It was so rude. I am trying to gain weight I’m on hospice and can’t gain weight. this made me feel so self conscious and really upset my spouse. You wouldn’t walk up to someone and say your fat you need to lose weight. People make me so angry. Walmart? This is the best you can do? Do better!

Pharmacy is great. Always willing to explain meds, fast delivery, will call doctor for refills on meds and always always friendly staff.
