Dr Fleming is very caring and nurturing. She has a passion for pets and it shows by the way she treats them. Her initial diagnosis are spot on and she is very knowledgeable in this field. She does her best to make sure your fur baby receives the maximum care. Her techs are caring and gentle as well.

Love the staff here! From the moment I walked in they made me feel super comfortable! It was my first time going to the vet with 2 of my furbabies and I was a bit nervous but the entire staff was super friendly and helpful! They took such great care of not only my furbabies but also made the process and experience smooth for me as well. Definitely recommend!

Everyone is so nice and pleasant. When we take our animals we have very little wait and the dictors are very efficient and explain what is needed if anything. We trust them with our fur babies and that does not come easy.

I didn't have to wait long at all to be seen and they were extremely professional. The vet was very nice to us and addressed all of our concerns. Also the visit was reasonably priced definitely going back.

I have had cats for almost 40 years and bring them in regularly for their checkups. I brought all 3 of my cats in for their annual checkup last month. One of my cats is 19 years old. Because of his age, he no longer receives vaccines. I am a physician. My biggest concern for this senior cat is that he is getting thin and has some muscle wasting, which I’m sure is normal for his age. Indeed, he is 92 in “people years”. I was also concerned that he may have cataracts. I told the vet (Dr. Nicols), that I just wanted him to have a good examination and no labs, if possible. She immediately suggested bloodwork including a thyroid test which I agreed to. She then left with him to draw blood. I asked her if she would examine him and she said she would when they took him back for blood work. As a pediatrician, I know how important the physical exam is and that it is important to examine the patient with the parent/guardian present (depending on the patients age and type of exam). In addition, why would you not examine the patient prior to a painful, invasive procedure? The exam will likely be much more challenging afterwards. She never returned to the room to relay any exam findings. When I reviewed the paperwork they gave me, she checked “normal” on all the parts of the physical exam. I am doubtful that she ever examined him. I know for sure he has cataracts, but the eye exam was marked normal. I left the clinic with a $900 bill for all 3 cats for examination, bloodwork for 2 and vaccines for 2.
Last spring, I brought our 10 yr old cat in for evaluation of right a ear hematoma caused by trauma. Our new kitten caused the injury by playing a bit rough with him. His ear was flopped forward due to the hematoma. Dr. Nicols recommended surgery—drainage of the hematoma and placement of special sutures to prevent reaccumulation of fluid. We moved forward with surgery which was $1200 and made no difference whatsoever. His right ear is still flopped forward.
I really like the staff including the front desk and vet techs at the office.
I am disappointed with the veterinary care, however. I will be looking for a new vet.

This place seriously needs more than just ONE exotic veterinarian. This is the ONLY vet in Jackson that takes exotics and it feels like no matter when you call, their exotic vet isn't in that day. It's not her fault, she can't be everywhere at once, but they seriously need to hire another exotic specialist.
