Went in to CarMax today with my daughter and son in law so they could purchase a vehicle. They had done all the preliminary things online and via telephone to make this process smooth. Their test drive was great and they wanted to purchase. Tim and Janice ruined this whole experience for them. Tim didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about and re ran a soft credit check 3 times even though they had already chosen a lender and just need proof of income. They said my daughter's check stub wasn't correct and needed to verify it. My daughter pulled up her bank statements to show her deposits as well and Janice stated that because she had ordered door dash that she would immediately be denied. My son in laws most recent check stub was short a few hours due to having to deal with insurance after his wreck and was told that he was considered part time and didn't look at his other check stubs. What was supposed to be a new and exciting experience turned into a disaster and left them feeling defeated. They may still get a vehicle from CarMax but refuse to deal with 2 individuals that treated them like children and made them feel stupid for even trying to get a new vehicle.

If I could give CarMax zero stars I would have! What a nightmare!!! I did most of the process online and on the phone. I had a 2022 Malibu shipped from the Memphis location to Jackson. They told me it would take about four days for the car to be ready. Six days later I called to see if it was ready yet, only to be told that they didn't have the title to it, and didn't know when they would get it. My only option was to wait indefinitely, or choose another vehicle. I chose another one, and went to the Jackson, TN location. We get there and deal with a "new" guy who seemed to not even be sure what planet he was on. I had went ahead and gotten full coverage insurance on this vehicle because they had to have proof of insurance before the sale. We test drove the vehicle, and everything was great. New guy had me pay my down-payment which I made with a card. About five minutes, and $700 later we are told the lender will not proceed with the sale because I work for DoorDash, and even though I already have a vehicle specifically for my job at home, they would not fund it because "if they have to repossess the vehicle there would be too many miles on it." When I tell you, I have never been so livid in my entire life!!! Then I have to wait two more hours AFTER being completely lied to during the entire now two week long process because NONE of the employees knew how to refund my money!!!!!!!!! Finally they pushed everything through as if I had bought the car so they could do a return on it. If they were able to push it through to give me a refund, why couldn't they have pushed it through period?! Anyway, two days later I am STILL waiting on my money to return to my account!!!! I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy!!!! I would never recommend CarMax to anyone, not even the devil himself!!!!! Stay farrrrrr away from this company!!!! There are plenty of other dealerships in Jackson to choose from!!!!!

CarMax goes above and beyond with customer satisfaction. Scott Campbell did everything to accommodate us. We will definitely tell everyone about our experiences and this is the place to purchase your next vehicle. If I could give 6 stars I definitely would. Well done !!

Geanelly was gr8! She helped us out @ a time when we almost got beat by a Mom & Pop dealer there. I WILL recommend them to everyone I know that's looking for a vehicle in the future.

It was a very easy process. I did almost everything on the website. I told the my price range and the emailed me several trucks to look at. I found the perfect one for me! I love my new truck. I would suggest that if anyone is looking for a group used vehicle with lower miles try CarMax first.
