If you love reading this is the place to be! If they don't have what you are looking for just ask them and they will be more than happy to try and find it for you. You can buy books ( at a much better price) or they will do trade instead. The staff is exceptionally nice and always happy to see you. Mr. Ralph Gray owner has been doing this for 30+ yrs used to be at Highland Park area before he moved to Federal Drive. I urge all to stop by and see for yourself I do believe you won't be disappointed. 5 star rating in my book.

I've been twice. Once she told me she didn't know if she had the V.C. Andrew's books I was looking for. After she got off the phone, while we stood and waited for her. I found them. Tons by her in the far corner. Next time I took a box of almost perfect books to trade, at least 35 books, another time she had to get off the phone, then got back on it the whole time we was there. She only chose like 3 of my books so my total was over $60. And she couldn't take a card and I had to but a few back cause I only had cash. She actually got smart and said she's not used to anyone coming in and getting so many of one author. And got ill and said I'd confused her and she had to add up 7×4.50 instead of 11×4:50... Which is high for those used books.. And actually talked to me like I was a child. I'm not local to this store. So only been twice. And neither was a good experience with her. But I found the books I wanted. ?

The Book Lady is one of my favorite places in Jackson. I've being going there since I was little when my mom and I would go together. Honestly, hardly anything has changed, but that's what I love about the place. The smell and atmosphere floods me with nostalgia in a way Barnes & Noble never will.
